Does anyone know where I can view a clip or obtain a recording of Monday's beautiful procession. I think it is a keepsake for all time and I only can find 5 second clips of it on various news channels. Thanks in advance to anyone with a link or info.

"At the very least, however our individual parishes have been surpressing Catholic tradition, it is on display for the world to see this week. It's a yardstick for discernment the way I see it."

I am fortunate enough to be in a parish where we use this traditional chant twice a year. Once at a memorial Mass at the end of the liturgical year to honor parishioners who have died during the year and again on Holy Saturday when we welcome catechumens and candidates into the Church.

Same here.. I keep hearing it in my head all day. Being raised Catholic, I had heard it many times but in English. It was amazing in Latin. Still stuck in my head.

I watched the Requiem Mass on Sky news and, unfortunately, the reporters/commentators knew very little about Roman Catholic Liturgy. As the Scriptures (those not read in English) were being read, the translation was given from the King James version of the Bible, the Responsorial Psalm was identified as being Psalm 23 - according to the Vulgate version (the version Catholics follow) this Psalm is Ps.22. Minor details, I know, but significant for one who has been trained in Liturgy!

However, nothing could detract from the sheer beauty, majesty and solemnity of the occasion. A very special celebration for a very special pontiff.

They were all staff (butlers) at the Vatican, the reason they were given this honor was they have spent their lives in service to The Pope. I think that it speaks volumes about who this man was... that the people who have waited on him for years should be given the highest honor to carry him in the final hours.

I found where you can buy it on a CD.

GO TO ChantCD.com

The name of the CD is Chant Compendium 3

I'm looking for this music too. It was so beautiful, i've had it in my head a lot too. But the reporters talked through some of it. Does anyone have an audio file of it?
