About all I can say is, "So What"....It's likely a lot of employers know these illegals are illegal and don't send in any of what they withheld to the gov't...

And that's probably more the rule than the exception...Unfortunately, there are millions of Americans working for between 8 and 12 dollars per hour so we know they/we will do the work...But employers couldn't get away with not sending in their taxes...

I heard this on Rush today. Democrats think that massive and out-of-control illegal immigration is their last and best hope to regain power.

There is absolutely no other reason they support it. The NY Times is just doing their fair share for the Rat party, not for America.

For every illegal that is having SS etc. deducted and sent in there are probably 10 that the employers are deducting the taxes, pocketing the money, and not reporting it and paying in cash.

Immigrants Can’t Bail Out Social Security

"Bush’s amnesty/ guest worker program will further exacerbate Social Security’s problems. Following the last such amnesty—the 1986 IRCA legislation—immigration surged more than three-fold, to 1.8 million per year. Most of the new immigrants had worked here illegally for years. Many promptly qualified for Social Security—i.e. were burdens, not benefits, to the Social Security system.

There are far more illegals working in the U.S. today than in 1986, yet Social Security has not factored an amnesty into its projections. The rosy scenario lives."

If they are illegal, they are probably not paying social security taxes, because they don't have a card. And if their employer is paying them, he should be jailed for employing an illegal. Being uneducated, they make low salaries anyway. The money that really pays for Social Security is made by educated people, but those jobs have been outsourced to foreign countries. (Because that makes America strong, or so the idiot politicians tell us.)

Most Mexicans in our area send their full paycheck back home to Mexico, since most have wives and children in Mexico to support. (The Catholic Church has not got them all smuggled in yet). They live in section eight housing, which is paid for by the tax payers. They usually have about 5 kids by some dumb, white, fat American girl, and then the Welfare has to step in and take care of everybody. They also get free health care at the clinic.

Yeah, the illegals are going to save Social Security you bunch of idiots at the Times.

How do we know their employers the ones that are breaking the law are paying those funds in to the goverment! They are already breaking the law, So why wouldn't they pocket the money they deduct from their illegal employees?

We voted for Prop. 200 as well. I don't think our President will change his mind about the border issue.

No where, do they even consider just how Martinez, and others like him, fraudulently got a hold of a social security #, in which he can also apply for loans, rent a home, borrow #, open a back account, and ruin the hell out of someone else's credit.

Or, he could have obtained fraudulent immigration documents and used those to obtain a valid SSN. Prior to a policy change in 2002, the SSA did not verify supporting documents before 'enumerating' an applicant.

No identity theft required.

And we wonder why the system is in such a disaster.

Thanks for the info.

"This is true, but many anti illegals are not about taxes, contributing to society or anything else. You should read posts 5 ("They have been a blight on our culture and way of life.") and 6 ("the dirtballs") as examples. They simply don't want them here under any circumstances."

Americans have watched helplessly as govt. has flooded the country with people who, largely, won't assimilate. Americans have seen their property taxes shoot sky high to educate the children of people who shouldn't be here. Americans have been ignored, ridiculed, called racists, and pushed by the ethnic lobby. Americans are getting fed up.

I don't see how any of this surprises anyone. Look at history.

Americans are getting fed up.

Boy, are you right. My hometown newspaper constantly tells us how great it is to have thousands of illegals in our area. I got fed up and wrote a scathing letter to the editor. A smart mouth young thing called me from the paper to verify that I had indeed written this letter, and did I still want it printed. I said, "You bet". I could tell she hated my guts. Little do I care.

This is a govt. created problem. Yet, we Americans are always the ones who have to "understand" and pay up. Even according to some people on this conservative forum. The anger is brewing.

Good for you. They can dish it out, but they expect everyone to shut up and take it.

I don't know what happened to the days when conservatives were for smaller government and fewer behemoth social programs. Even if illegals/guest-workers are tolerated in order to prop up social security (as if), we should all be pushing for dismantling it altogether.

Mexico actually claims the money in this fund. I heard this on the radio about 3 months ago. Before this is all over with V. Fox will be fighting Congress for this money.

I'll bet all those Mexicans roofing the house next door to us are getting paid in cash.

Two things:

1. If the money is just lumped into the genral funds and spent anyway, they aren't "bolstering" anything.

2. As another pointed out, the dishonest ones are paid in cash and don't file anyway. Which is no big deal to them: they'll take their American dollars to Mexico and retire large there.
