Hillary Meter: Makeover is Working, Only 43% Believe Clinton is Liberal
National Ledger ^ | April 7, 2005 | Staff

Scott Rasmussen has announced that he will begin to track Hillary Clinton's extreme makeover as she attempts to soften her liberal image and move towards the political center. If his latest "Hillary Meter" poll is any indication, Clinton is having success.

The latest numbers according to Rasmussen Reports:

--Currently, 43% of Americans view the former First Lady as politically liberal. That's down from 51% at the end of January.

--At the same time, the number who view Mrs. Clinton as politically moderate has increased from 27% to 34%.

--32% say that if she is the Democratic nominee, they will definitely vote FOR Hillary Clinton.

---37% say that if she is the Democratic nominee, they will definitely vote AGAINST her.

-- 26%) say it depends upon who she runs against.

Rasmussen notes that she still has only a 44% approval rating with 40% disapproval, and more women would vote against her, than for her.

Hillary is re-inventing herself as an anti-abortion, gun loving, military hawk with each passing day. Oh--and expect the God references to flow from Hillary as often as she can work them in. The extreme makeover is in full swing.

This is a brilliant idea by the veteran pollster Scott Rasmussen.

I think the black and white. It would be more appropriate and (I'm laughing too hard, give me a minute....)

(ahem)

... I think the best black and white films have incredible gray tones for the in-between shades.

I don't believe Hitlery is liberal or conservative, she is for herself and only believes in herself.

I heard an audio soundbite on the the Sean Hannity show of Hillary yelling at a move on org rally.

And she wants to be president?! Well, if you're president you can't just start screaming like a nutbag!

Haven't people learned by now?! The Democratic party is dishonest plain and simple. If anyone believes Hillary is a conservative just because she throws a few lines out there! We should know better by now. The Democratic party cannot win on the leftist platform, if they could they'd push Dean. They have to get someone to parade around like a conservative during the elections.

I don't see where the Beast has 20% of the FReeper vote. Sometimes I see FReepers saying that there are FReeper Beast supporters but I never see them in any of the Beast threads.

I am one stone cold anti-Beast FReeper, and I read and post to as many Beast threads as I can. I also come back to the thread and look again so unless its a 300+ response thread then I'm usually reading the whole thing. But I just don't see this 20% Freeper Beast support anywhere. Can you ping me the next time you see it?

I'm just finding it hard to beleive that a real FReeper, knowing what we know, could ever be fooled by that stinking, disgusting POS.

The RNC needs to start operating under the assumption that Hillary will be the 2008 nominee, and react as such.

Her numbers are still quite lousy, and the GOP has yet to fire its first shot. It really is too early to worry about this stuff.

Isn't that unbelieveable that FR actually has 20% of members who would support Hillary --

Not a chance in Hades!

The ..."uneducated, touchy-feely, emotion-based women voters and the MSM" should be loathed more. It's the "fool me once..." scenario.

All these self serving politicians would not exist if ignoramuses stopped voting them in. The ignoramuses is who I loath more in regards to politics. When you try to "enlighten" them even more loathing commences because their emotions trump everything else.

I think it's only because she hasn't been in the news much. The more the light that is shone on her, the less popular she becomes.

No, but he is probably friends with my sister and her husband though. Both are "it's for the children" Democrats to the core, arghhhhh...

At least the Thanksgiving dinner conversations are not boring.
