Some local news of interest for myself as I know the people involved in this incident. I feel bad for the dog but I will tell you from experience that if the lady (and I use that term loosely), Ms. Young, were to tell me the sky was blue, I'd have to go out and check for myself. As for the younger son? Check with the local police, I'm sure his name (and hers for that matter) will pop up a few times on their computer. Of course, none of that justifies shooting the dog but if any feud started, I can tell you with out a doubt, who instigated it.

Some people just don't know when to lay low, shut up, and not make the situation worse. It is unfortunate a dog has to die, but these people need a reality check!

"Slaying?"
What a bizarre choice of words.

I bet it was a feral chihuahua; fair game if it's outside.

That's just a weird story. They're probably both nuts. Who would be insane enough to handle an annoying neighbor's chihuahua with a pellet gun? D'oh! I'd suggest a paintball gun.
However, the idea that the dog was barking aggressively? Was this after the shot or before? Wouldn't you think the dog would be yelping, at the very least?

I'd suggest a paintball gun. Oh - and only if you had a clear shot at the hindquarters. A dog that small is likely to die of shock if you hit the ribcage or head. But they do have those little kid paintball guns that shoot a really low muzzle velocity.

My mom has a nutty neighbor who insists my mom is having an affair with her horrible husband. My mom has enough trouble just getting through her day with her arthritis, like she is going to want to deal with these people. But man, you don't go do something so stupid in return to a nutcase neighbor and give them 'justification' for their insane behavior.

CHIHUAHUA SHOT: NEIGHBOR PRAISED
To: Hatteras
Tension had existed between the neighbors since winter, when Dernev's pit bull attacked Charlie, and Young notified Cary's animal control department, she said. A pitbull attacked a chihuahua and the chihuahua lived? Not very likely, imo.
