Harry Reid's office blasts veteran over Bolton
Democrat's e-mail advises citizen to 'get off your extreme partisan puppetry'

Senate Democratic Minority Leader Harry Reid is being asked to apologize after his chief of staff used an e-mail to scold an Air Force veteran who wrote to Reid to express support for John Bolton's nomination as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

The activist organization Move America Forward is demanding the apology after Susan McCue told one of the organization's members, Cory Estes of Bucyrus, Ohio, ''to get off your extreme partisan puppetry and think this through.''

The tongue-lashing didn't stop there. Reid's chief of staff also told Estes, who says he's retired after serving in the Air Force for 20 years, to ''stop and think about what you as an individual can proactively do to protect this great nation.''

She also accused Estes of ''name-calling at the behest of the rich Republican propaganda machinery. ...''

Estes forwarded his e-mail exchange with McCue to the organization, explaining he ''didn't appreciate being treated so rudely'' by Sen. Reid's office.

Estes e-mailed Reid's office after Move America Forward asked members to contact the Senate minority leader in support of Bolton's nomination. Members also were instructed to ask Reid not to engineer a Democrat-led smear campaign against Bolton during his confirmation hearings.

According to the April 10 edition of Time magazine, Reid is considering an effort to block Bolton's nomination through filibustering.

''Senator Reid owes this 20-year veteran of our Armed Services a swift and sincere apology. We also call upon Minority Leader Reid to take disciplinary action against his chief of staff to set an example that this kind of hostile and unprofessional conduct against private citizens will not be tolerated,'' said Melanie Morgan, co-chair of Move America Forward.

''Our elected officials and their staffs are employed by the citizens of this nation who pay their salary. Senator Harry Reid is supposed to answer to and serve the public, but his office apparently thinks it works the other way around. This has the chilling effect of telling the public to shut up and keep their views to themselves,'' said Morgan.

Don't expect anything back from a latrine, except the smell of rotting excrement.

" ''to get off your extreme partisan puppetry and think this through.''"

Gee, imagine that. And they're trying to stop the appointment of Bolton because he was "verbally abusive." Oh well, one set of rules for Congress, and another set for the rest of us.

I like to look at this how Rush does - the Democrats are obviously unhappy, unstable and desperate and their lashing out!

I hope Reid tries to filibuster Bolton's confirmation---it will just set in motion the final shift that will bring the democrat party to the lowest depths they have prolly ever been in....

Here's the response from Harry Reid's office:

And you, cory, need to get off your extreme partisan puppetry and think this through. Blame the UN for the world’s ills if it makes you feel better. But maybe you should stop and think about what you as an individual can proactively do to protect this great nation. Name-calling at the behest of the rich republican propaganda machinery isn’t it. Supporting our two-party constitional democracy is.

Agreed. It is a stunning indictment of the stupidity of Democrats that a Democratic Chief of Staff would tell any retired military veteran to ''stop and think about what you as an individual can proactively do to protect this great nation.''

My God, my God, to think that these people make our laws.

Well, since they didn't have any ideas to win an election last time I guess they have to resort to doing everything they can to thwart those who pursue an agenda different from theirs.

We now have the Democrat Party leader in the Senate not only being obstructionist, but a shill for the UN, and willing to tell off veterans of the Armed Services who dare get in the way.

It's another factor entirely. Democrats support the war but oppose the troops (and this retired airman counts as a "troop"), presumably because the latter contribute to the victory of the wrong side (America) in the war.

What this shows is that Harry Reid's office doesn't understand that they WORK for Mr. Estes. He pays their salary... they are supposed to take seriously the responsibility of being a public servant and treating him with respect and hearing him out, whether they like his views or not.

Instead it is the compelte arrogance of power, they decide they'll tell him off for having a different opinion and GASP telling them that opinion.

The message from Reid's office to those who don't agree with him: SHUT THE F*** UP!

I'm more than tired of those radical left wing a$$holes referring to everyone that doesn't drink their kool-aid - as being "extremists"...

If they don't quit -- I may just have to show them an "extremist"..

Only confirms that Bolton is overly qualified for the job he's been picked for.

Lets see how much play THIS gets in the MSM---

Senator Harry Reid should apologize in person to this veteran---apologize Harry, Harry you have to apologize.

Hm....probably won't be mentioned anywhere but here--unfortunately I heard Rush say on Friday that he will be off tomorrow----

Exactly so. Maybe if enough voters get told off, they'll help oust such arrogant blowhards.

The MSM won't breathe a word of this. It fear that, as always, it is up to us, to get the word out.

The problem is, the only one that will be angry are people that already dislike the dems---

The dems won't care---they just don't care what their representatives do--and they certainly aren't sympathetic to the military.
