LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Kraft Foods Inc on Monday recalled about 150,000 packages of Jell-O pudding, which may contain pistachios not listed among the ingredients on the label.

The product was distributed nationally, the Illinois-based company said.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported in connection with the undeclared pistachios in three flavors of Reduced Calorie Instant Pudding & Pie Filling, the company said.

Kraft recalled 1.4 oz. packages of white chocolate flavor Jell-O with the 05 MAR 07 D8 and 06 MAR 07 D8 code dates, chocolate flavor Jell-O with the 06 MAR 07 D8 code date and Jell-O chocolate fudge flavor with the 07 MAR 07 D8 code.

The company said it has taken steps to prevent a recurrence of the error, which it found after examining boxes of Jell-O still under its control.

LOL. When I saw the title I thought of linking your thread. FWIW, you'd probably have better luck with the canned nacho cheese intead of the blocks of velveeta. Plus it'll keep a few years longer.

I hear Minute Rice is organizing patrols to stop undeclared pistachios from entering the Kraft Foods facility.

The Minute Rice is white, naturally.

That's because the WHITE Minute Rice hates Nuts Of Color.

I always declare all my pistachios on order to avoid an IRS audit

Are you in control of the supply chain? If you're not managing your supply chain, it's probably managing you.

We have a cat that is Wacko for instant Pistachio pudding. One day I came in from work and the kitchen cabinet door was open and a pudding box had been chewed open. I found Saydee (the cat) looking innocent but the wet nose had pudding powder on it. If you want to recall your pudding...send it to my cat Saydee.

Maybe they were using a Hoover to suck the pistachios out of the pudding.

Thank goodness. Uncontrollable Jell-O is a national security issue. On the other hand, maybe some uncontrollable Jell-O would solve some of our border problems.

I demand a recall because minute rice takes 95 seconds to cook at my altitude.

A dreadful event happened in my son-in-law's office a few years back. He works for a publisher and an out-of-town editor was visiting on a project, working to deadline. They ordered in Chinese, being careful to not include any nits because she was allergic to them. The food was delivered, they ate, and she dropped dead right in the office before help could arrive. Most Chinese food is cooked in peanut oil, whether the dish includes nuts -- or not -- and it was enough to send the employee into an allergic reaction and kill her!

Working to deadline took on a new meaning.

One of my granddaughters is allergic to nuts, and I will be VERY careful.
