Their cause, their concern, their caring for America and it's sovereignty are gaining steam. I hope the President has a change of mind, quick. Sounds like our northern border will be next to be guarded by volunteers.

I heard a woman call into Hannity suggesting that the President sign an Executive Order establishing the Civil Border Patrol, similar to the formation of the Civil Air Patrol in the 40's. It's a thought.

We here on the border in Cochise County, AZ invite President Bush come down and instead of clearing logs of his Crawford, TX ranch, he can help us clear the tons of illegal alien garbage out of our desert and mountain areas. We want him to expend the same effort he's pictured expending above to haul bags of illegal alien garbage down from the hiking trails and environmentally sensitive areas. We've even got a few "Cochise County UDA" bags with his name written on it, reserved for him just for this purpose. So, how about it President Bush, are you coming down or what?

"They are only maybe two dozen hardcore relaxed immigration advocates..."

Great Scot! You mean to tell me we've gone from the CAL-9 to the FOQNA-24. I didn't realize they could reproduce that quickly...

I fear Potus is playing politics on this one. But, it's a dangerous game . If we get another 911 or even anything close because someone came in from Mexico whom does he think will still support him. It sure as hell won't be the rats who want open borders.

The ironic thing is that many Mexicans who came here legally don't want and illegals entrants and by having open borders and then severely restricting the rest of the world from coming here, we become one hugely bigoted nation.

How can we justify favoring one country over another when it comes to legal immigration? The whole issue becomes insanely managed.

I hope your photo montage convinces people of what you are dealing with. I was in Mexico for a month last year. It is no consolation I know, but the whole country looks like these pictures - garbage everywhere.

Have you sent your montage to the WH & every member of congress? Might be worth the effort...? I am very sorry for your loses and hope this matter gets the national attenion it so richly deserves.

But, then they'd be burdened with 'govt. oversight'.

Descendants of these immigrants feel badly demanding a curtailment of immigration to this country.

Well, I'm one of those descendants and I don't feel at all bad about not wanting illegal immigration to continue. My mother came over here legally from Italy, had to learn English to take her citizenship test, and insisted that we speak English at home. I think that's a novel concept today!

OK

I'm repeating myself, but President Bush got elected in Texas, it matters not where he 'came from', he's a Texas politician.

NO body gets elected in Texas by working in any manner against the mexican 'interests' that have built up there over the past several decades.

What is most irritating to me is that the old Mexican families in Texas, Arizona, etc. are as American as I am (or more). But lax attitudes along the border have allowed others, including university elite liberal racists, to seep in and tilt the scale.

Bush is doing just what we should expect of him - the real issue is what will it take to knock him off of that position. Sadly, it just MIGHT take another hit in the heartland (that cannot be denied) to do it.

Today's quandary: Who ya gonna vote for...Hitlery or some hair ball libertarian?

" So, how about it President Bush, are you coming down or what?"<.b<

I can't disagree. Unless there is an intelligible explanation for why we haven't secured our borders since 9/12/01, I will be mystified as to why this "do nothing" attitude continues.

I just don't get it, and I admit that I don't get it. As much as I love this president, his thought process on the issue of millions of illegals flooding into America and disappearing with no tracking, no real effort to apprehend them...........simply bewilders me.

The policy seems reckless, and he is not a reckless man!

If a sixty-thousand soldier Mexican Army crossed our border, it’s a military invasion and act of war. Aren’t more than six million unarmed Mexicans illegally entering our country an immigrant invasion?

U.S. Constitution Article 1 Section 8 Clause 15:

"The Congress shall have Power to provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections

and repel Invasions;"

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

If a few civilians in lawn chairs with binoculars cause such an uproar, what would happen if one hundred-thousand armed Americans stood border watch? ‘Minuteman’ mania? Methinks they protesteth too much.

I'd be happy if the MMP comes to mean the MM Party.

All politics are local it's said. Start by getting people elected to change local rules to deal with local ILLEGAL immigrant problems.

Then statewide.

Then, "Look out, mainline Washington Republicrats!"

The problem is, as I'm SURE you are aware, the term, "vigilante," does NOT connote one from the Vigilance Committee, picking up what a failed government has dropped. It connotes one who is quick to hang or shoot anyone even LOOKING guilty of something, and not necessarily the crime for which someone is being sought. This is hardly the case with the MMP, as you should be aware. They are, indeed, picking up what a faile goernment has dropped, but they are quick to expel or disavow any one whose activity can be construed as "vigilanteism," as it's popularly seen. Thus, use of that term by Mr. Bush was wildly inappropriate and your comment was disingenuous at best and possibly duplicitous.

Have you lost it? You know very well that "vigilante" was meant in a negative way. I love Bush and voted for him twice, but that was a bonehead move. He should have praise them and thanked them for their help. They saved the taxpayers a ton of money. Committee of Vigilance, PULLLEAZZEE!!

As I've said before:

Calling the Minuteman Project volunteers "vigilantes" just because they carry handguns is like calling hikers and campers "arsonists" just because they carry matches.

"President. Bush. Is. Negligent."

I am so disappointed! I'm afraid that you're right. But I still have the same nagging question about his thinking on this hugely important subject. My question is: If he understood so thoroughly, and so quickly, what he needed to do........sometime around 10 AM EDT on Sept. 11, 2001, why didn't he see (simultaneously) that part and parcel of the reaction to 9/11 would necessarily be to literally do whatever it takes to secure our borders - northern, southern........and ports?!

I mean render them air-tight and impenetrable?!

If this country's military has the capability of carrying out the complicated logistics for moving men and equipment first to Afghanistan, then to Iraq......probably over 200,000 in all (plus non-combat support personnel), then why is it not possible to satisfactorily man our borders?!

Char
