DFU SONG: Last Song (GOP, it was the last check I'll ever write for you)
DFU SONGS | 4-2005 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

MIDI - LAST SONG

(La la la la la la la la la la la)

Did you know I wrote a check and put it in the mail
'Cause you promised me you would always do what's right and never fail
All you sen-a-tors, I have had your back
But I watch you rolling over...you yellow-bellied hacks

That's the last check I'll ever write for you
I have had it and this time I really swear that I am through
It was the last stinking check I'll ever write for you
You just watch and you will see...no more dough from me
GOP...just watch and see...no more from me

(La la la la la la la)

You have run away from fights with tails between your knees
It's the leftists bastards instead of me you're trying hard to please
All you sen-a-tors, I have had your back
But I watch you rolling over...you yellow-bellied hacks

That's the last check I'll ever write for you
I have had it and this time I really swear that I am through
It was the last stinking check I'll ever write for you
You just watch and you will see...no more dough from me
GOP...just watch and see...no more from me

(La la la la la la la)

It's the last check I'll ever write for you
It's the last check I'll ever write for you

I participated and campaigned like never before in this last election. My wife and I gave a couple of hundred dollars each and I even drove 30 miles on election day to take my grandmother and her friends to the polls.

I did so with the understanding that we would get something in return.

Ya know... some of use have been saying this for a while. How we shouldn't just roll over and support the GOP no matter what. And all we heard in response was "You just wait until we control the White House and both houses of Congress. Then you'll see some action!"

Well, we're sure seeing some, aren't we?

I can't figure them out. Just the other day they were telling us how they had the votes and probably had a few democrats to cross the aisle too.

Be patient Joe. There must be a reason. They can't let us down. I have a concern over what you wrote. They do control both the legislative and the executive. They need to reach down and act like it.

Well, I'm deep in democrat country and also spent a lot of time encouraging people to vote for republicans. I even went thru 12 plus long hours of poll work. I didn't do it for a return but supported a party that I felt was closer to my values and would work towards getting our country back on the right path. I still believe the alternative was worse but sometimes I feel I was misled and am disappointed in how even with a majority they still run scared.

I sent back Liddy Dole's beg letter with 9 cents taped to the form letter saying, not one more dime from me until the Republican senators get a spine and start acting like the majority in the senate. I suspect she will be getting a bunch of turn downs. Maybe that will wake them up!

Well folks, as much as I'd like to sit here and blame Congress and the Senate, we, yes we, continue to vote in the idiots.

Look at the poll on the forum right now. We know next to nothing about Condi Rice's political beliefs, yet 50% of the forum participants want her or Giuliani to run for President.

While I like both these people, I'm not convinced either are true conservatives. What is wrong with us?

In California the R.P. wouldn't know a conservative from a hole in the ground. We're forced to pick between dumb and dumberer every time around. It's pathetic.

The Republican party has triangulated itself out of exitance.

What's worse, Hillary selling us down the river to China, or the R.P. selling us down the river to China AND giving away our nation to foreign nationals?

Screw 'em all!

"Not one thin dime. Spineless jellyfish."

Agreed. I actually sent my first donation to an Independent today. I'm not being represented by my party any longer. It's been a bit of a revelation for me.

And Condi has made it quite clear that she isn't running.

I haven't given up yet. I suspect that they will confirm Bolton soon. And I belive they will win the judicial battle. But for now, this is really, really frustrating.

Cindy: We've got to hang together. There must be a reason for all this.

"The cave-in was so staged as to be laughable.
The drama in the Senate to set up the comittee meeting, the last second rug pull-out...
Played us like fiddles, the 'pubbies did. Suckers!"

I got that idea too. Like it was all staged. But I got a different feeling about who was being played like fiddles. I got the idea that the dems were being played like fiddles. Like they were being allowed to show themselves for what they are.

I mean, did you see how the dems were acting almost crazed about not holding the vote a half hour early? Arguing that it shouldn't be voted on until 5??
And did you hear the whispers between them grow almost too loud to hear the Republicans when they talked?
And then how the dems almost seemed to be salivating at the mouth that the vote was put off?

I think they proved with out a doubt to anyone who was watching that the dems have an agenda. One agenda... Block and obstruct everything!

Felt to me like ..... let's give the dems enough rope and see if they hang themselves.

The so called Republican Senators are nothing but a bunch of people who kowtow to the left-wing fascist democrats. They will do anything to keep in good favor with the anti-American left-wing fascist democrats in the Senate and the NYT and Washington Post. I have also stopped sending money to the Senate campaign committee and will not sent another dime unless they get some backbone and stand up to the anti-American left-wing fascist democrats.

You may be on to something. There's someone in behind the scenes orchestrating this and maybe for the reasons you indicate.

Hey Doug; some of my friends are sending back two pesos with the message "You're asking US to get used to it."

Only fair.

My letter to the Chairman of the RNC:

As a long time supporter of the ideals of the Republican Party and as a giver of money to several Senate Candidates and House Candidates in the last two elections I am lost.

We voted for, worked hard for, donated our hard earned money for and elected a Republican majority in the Senate and House.

Now it would seem that all our work was for nothing as the people we worked so hard for are acting like Democrats.

They are allowing black robed tyrants to run the country in direct violation of the Constitution. They are kowtowing to the Democrats at every turn and seem to be kissing their arse whenever asked.

Unless our party and the people we elected begin to act like they are in charge and take back the country from the left-wing fascist judges and kick some democrat ass then I will move and try to start a political party that will listen to the American people and not to the left-wing fascist anti-American newspapers like the NYT and the Washington Post.

I am a long time voter and supporter; the people we elected have been a disgrace. They worry about their left wing fascist democrat buddies more that the country.

WHEN WILL WE SEE THE REPUBLICANS TAKE CONTROL????

If my friends and I do not see some action we will leave the party and try to form a party that will support the American people.

The Republicans didn't act like very good actors. And you could tell they were acting.

But the dems on the other hand were sweating over not wanting the vote. I noticed all their excited chatter back and forth with each other every time a Republican talked. And their chatter grew louder and louder and more fevered each time. Something is up. But I have no idea what. But I got the idea that the Republican were watching the dems reaction very close for some reason.

Evidently Lugar was busy reminiscing about his little anniversary today and wasn't paying attention. Ten years ago, he announced that he was running for president. And darned if a bomb in Oklahoma City shot that all to heck. The GOP is made up of spineless worms (AFTER they are comfortably elected, of course).

Tomorrow i'm sending my GOP voter registration card to my Senator. I'm going to the courthouse and re-register as an Independent. I do hope I will still be welcome on FR. I haven't left my party. My party has left me. Somebody please tell me why I shouldn't do this.
