DFU SONG: Last Song (GOP, it was the last check I'll ever write for you)
DFU SONGS | 4-2005 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

MIDI - LAST SONG

(La la la la la la la la la la la)

Did you know I wrote a check and put it in the mail
'Cause you promised me you would always do what's right and never fail
All you sen-a-tors, I have had your back
But I watch you rolling over...you yellow-bellied hacks

That's the last check I'll ever write for you
I have had it and this time I really swear that I am through
It was the last stinking check I'll ever write for you
You just watch and you will see...no more dough from me
GOP...just watch and see...no more from me

(La la la la la la la)

You have run away from fights with tails between your knees
It's the leftists bastards instead of me you're trying hard to please
All you sen-a-tors, I have had your back
But I watch you rolling over...you yellow-bellied hacks

That's the last check I'll ever write for you
I have had it and this time I really swear that I am through
It was the last stinking check I'll ever write for you
You just watch and you will see...no more dough from me
GOP...just watch and see...no more from me

(La la la la la la la)

It's the last check I'll ever write for you
It's the last check I'll ever write for you

"But I got the idea that the Republican were watching the dems reaction very close for some reason."

I agree. I think they were trying to figure out how they should act when they once again become the minority.

I'm thinking the Republicans wanted the dems to hang themselves. Either being see as obstruct, obstruct, obstruct. Or get them to agree to something in the heat of the moment.

Does C span replay a tape of that? I'd like to listen to the ending again and see just what the dems agreed to at the end of the meeting. Maybe there is a key to what went on in that agreement.

Na, I think the dems got set up. They fell for something. I think that's what the whole thing was all about. Either showing them for the obstructionists that they are or maneuvering them into something in that agreement at the end of the meeting.

Trent Slut, (P, MS) is my senator. Wanna guess when they lost me?

I personally think it is a waste to go to another party. My hope is that with enough pressure we will get them to at least do some of what they should be doing. I know that politics is the art of the possible. We will never have someone elected who is as far right as I am. I understand that. But I want them to stand up and at least try to do what is right. They had the ability today to have this vote. It would have sent a message loud and clear to the RATS. Perhaps our side is just making a public show of trying to get along and is ready to smack them down. I hope that is the case. If we lose Bolton, they will be emboldened to keep it up.

I love this president, but I want him to quit spending so much money and close the borders. His vision of how to deal with the evil doers is the right vision. He has been resolute on that. Freedom is spreading.

I think part of the border problem could be solved if thousands of people turned in the employers who are hiring illegals. We could make a difference. Let us find out who is violating the law and out them. Let's name names and they will either obey the law or go out of business.

I only hope that you are right, but I haven't seen too many big surprises that they have pulled off in the past. What am I missing?

some of my friends are sending back two pesos with the message "You're asking US to get used to it."

ohhhhhhhhh...that's great! I'm going to remember that one.

Thank you for that reply Doug. I'm just sort of fed up with the status quo of the GOP lately. I know i'm just one of the 62,000,000 who voted for the GOP but that vote actually means something to me. It meant nothing to Republicans in the Senate today.

Like they were being allowed to show themselves for what they are.

I don't mean to be rude, but how many times are we going to let them "show themselves for what they are? Every time we get our rear ends kicked we say "Now everyone will see! This'll show'em!" Wake up and smell the coffee -- we're getting shellacked!

Well, I figure the best way to get them to listen is to not send them any money. Instead, I continue to send lots and lots of e-mails! Also, am praying God starts removing a few "obstructionists" on the other side - we need extra divine help to get the judges through. I can't believe Teddy isn't hooked up to a kidney machine or that Byrd isn't in a loony bin!

You are giving the pubbies way too much credit. What is happening is that a very sizable portion of the Republican senators are dimwitted imbeciles who are easily swayed by Democrats who promise good press. It's a NYT/Wapo Jedi mind trick that works only on simpletons.

I am getting so discouraged. We may need to give up the majority in the Senate and support only conservatives until we have a majority of Conservatives in the Senate. Moderate Pubbies are just Democrats in a pinch. We should challenge every RINO in a primary, and withhold support in the general election, until they are all gone. We can elect a genuine conservative in Ohio, New Hampshire, Maine, Oregon, Arizona and Nebraska. We'll have to do it if we want to get our goals accomplished. It may take 8-10 years, but we can get a majority back eventually, and then, when we want to vote for a President's appointee, he will pass and that will be that.

The Dems must be laughing their asses off at how easy the Pubbies are to play.

No, we don't.

The poll on the forum didn't ask who we WANTED to be president.

It asked who'd be the strongest candidate.

There's a difference in believing someone will win, and wanting that to happen.

Too damn many sky-is-falling fools around here today. You don't have to encourage them.

If you're going to register, register as something useful at least. Register as a Democrat or a Constitution Party member or even a Libertarian.

Being an Independent does nothing for you politically but make you more likely to get harassed around the time of elections.

And I don't know what everyone here is wetting their shorts about. Bolton is the closest thing to a conservative appointee we've had in years. Did we think he'd sail through, with all the RINOs up there?

I'm more worried about the judges than I am about us burning ourselves out on a stupid UN appointee. What's wrong with you people? Without a UN appointee...we have no ambassador to the UN! Big Whoopee-do! Without the Supremes, we got NOTHING.

Stop dumping all your chips on a quest to buy a pot that doesn't mean much to win, and hold back a few for the good hands.

I'm gonna just start pinging everyone to this post.

Burning ourselves out on a stupid UN appointee. What's wrong with you people? Without a UN appointee...we have no ambassador to the UN! Big Whoopee-do! Without the Supremes, we got NOTHING. I hate these RINO bastards as much as you do, but who cares if Bolton gets through? It's just the UN. It's not the US. When was the last time we had a diplomat with a pair at the UN? What difference does it make!?!?

Activists need to be close to the GOP now more than ever, and everyone here is jumping ship over a pinhole leak.

Now, if the appointments to the Supreme Court don't happen, I'll join you in political exile and leave the GOP for good. I voted GOP because I expected that they'd defend the country and appoint conservatives. But Bolton is just a dab of icing on a much more important cake. And I'm not leaving when all the fuss is about an appointment that means less than the ambassadorship to Swaziland.

It looks like they want to be known as the party of losers. They don't have a clue how to win. Our borders, Terri Shiavo, Bolton...they have made an a$$ out of all of them. They are nothing but a bunch of gutless wonders either too stupid or too spineless to be winners! What an embarrassment and disappointment.

Like all Presidents, he has vision on some issues and blindness on others. Many times our view of vision or blindness is what label he has when in the White House.
