NEW YORK A Brooklyn minister is in police custody on charges of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy who attended his church. Police say 35-year-old Donald Jean (pron. JOHN) was arrested and charged with first degree sexual abuse after members of Soul Revelation City of Light Church alerted authorities.
The boy is said to have been molested six times between April 1st and 13th at Jean's Canarsie home. Authorities believe the minister may have abused other children who stayed at his house.
If convicted, Jean faces up to 25 years in prison.
ping
Fry him.
He's a minister at Soul Revelation City of Light Church.
Soul Revelation City of Light Church.
Soul Revelation City of Light Church.
Let me say that again:
Soul Revelation City of Light Church.
You had to be there, I guess.
Bump!
Another one of those "Churches-Of-What's-Happenin'-Now"
Had the Catholic church handled its pedophiles this way, it would be in much better shape today, both spiritually and financially. I note in these stories from other church bodies that arrests are made and trial dates are set. That's the way it should be.
I thought only Catholic priests were guilty of this. </sarcasm>

It wouldn't happen if non-Catholic ministers were allowed to marry...whoops, they are!
Okay, Law and Order fans, once again. Riker's Island is the site of New York City's jail, where people awaiting trial or convicted of minor crimes are held. The state prison system is mostly upstate, notably Ossining on the Hudson ("up the river"), called "Sing-Sing" for short.
No, they're just the ones guilty of covering it up and shuffling offenders around among parishes.
Wonder how long he'll last in Rykers or wherever.

Hopefully God has an extra treat planned for this slug and may he collect his award sooner rather than later.
This has to stop.
Our country is being dragged into the gutter, by the "if it feels good do it " crowd.
It will be interesting to watch the ACLU take both sides in this case.
If there was ever a hate crime, this is one.
A man with the trust of children, who attacks them = a hate crime.
Who knows what threats he used, to keep the boy coming back?
The article even insinuates that the child wasn't the only victim. Just the one brave enough to step forward.
Maybe if you came from a bigger family, like me...(One of seven, grew up in Queens.)
;)
More Info on Rikers Island [found on the web]:
The island is the heart of New York City's jail system, home to 80 percent of its 14,600 or so inmates, with nine jails for men and one for women. Rikers' daytime population-including prisoners, employees, and visitors-is enormous, nearly 20,000. All residents are temporary.
Two-thirds of the inmates are detainees-legally innocent and waiting for their cases to crawl through the courts-while one-third have been sentenced and are waiting for an empty bed in an upstate prison or are serving a year or less here.
