RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY - Michael Savage blasts Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh

RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY

RABID radio host Michael Savage is whining that he has been banned from the Fox News Channel after he dissed Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

The controversial conservative — who was fired by MSNBC in 2003 after referring to a caller to his show as "a sodomite" who should "get AIDS and die" — recently burned more bridges by calling O'Reilly a "Leper-Con who poses as a conservative" and Hannity "another Republican bootlicker who began as a Rush [Limbaugh] understudy" on his "Savage Nation" radio show.

Savage claims that he's been bumped off four scheduled appearances on Fox News Channel in the wake of his caustic comments.

"These two are now acting the way the mainstream media has been acting for decades, thinking they are the gatekeepers of who shall be heard in the conservative world," Savage sputtered in a statement.

"Both are jealous of my audience and are trying to silence me because they do not want the competition."

Savage boasted that the supposed "ban" has not affected sales of his new book, "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder," which debuts at No. 6 on the New York Times best-seller list next week.

The gay-bashing broadcaster isn't the only publicity hound taking aim at O'Reilly, the undisputed king of cable news.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue, famed for firing off several press releases a day to media outlets, is ticked that O'Reilly once described him as a "witch-hunter" and Pope John Paul II as an "autocrat."

"My members are a little bit fed up with him," Donohue claims. "I guess he feels like if he is to the left of me, he'll appear more fair and balanced. We're on the same side philosophically on most issues. But I feel like, when someone crosses the line from criticism

Dittos bttt!! Here's what Levin thinks of "Weiner Nation"

Nice try, but I could not care less what Levin thinks of Savage, even though I enjoy Levin tremendously. They are very very different and both are ESSENTIAL hosts.

What is his point in degarding other conservatives? To try to make himself look better?

His annoyance at Rush and Hannity usually comes when they toe the Bushbot line on issues where Bush is clearly in the wrong. Sometimes he crosses the line for competitive reasons, and sometimes because he is quite insane--which makes him all the more enjoyable.

You can't argue the issue but you must cast aspersions on those to whom you disagree. You are the weak, and you consequently have embarrassed yourself. Whenever anyone thinks a serious argument is funny, as in LOL, then I discount the intentions as do most serious people of intellect and thought who understand the issues of debate.

With respect to the compression used on Rush. You may be correct in that affiliates may have used it to their gain. I do not know for sure.

I seem to remember a story about it a while back in the "Radio" section of a big New York newspaper. The progression of events was something like this:

1. Rush Limbaugh was identified in the article as one of the high-profile talk radio hosts who used the compression technology to squeeze an extra couple of ad spots into his program every hour.

2. Limbaugh's spokesman vehemently denied the charge.

3. The newspaper cited specific cases supporting their claim.

4. Limbaugh's people investigated, and found that the compression was being used by affiliate stations on their own.

5. All of Limbaugh's subsequent contracts included specific language prohibiting radio stations from altering his broadcast in any way.

I'm inclined to think that someone like Limbaugh would never want his shows compressed no matter how much extra revenue he could generate. Someone like that takes a lot of pride in his on-air manners of speech, tone, etc. (think of the natural pauses in his speech when he lights up a cigar!) -- and they aren't likely to look kindly upon anyone attempting to change that.

I'll look for some additional information and post it here if I can find any.

"that is remarkable given his book it is not advertised anywhere and it is very true Savage is censored by FoxNews in favor of idiot sycophant Hanraty. O'Reilly is too pathetic to even comment about."

Hanraty. Carl Hanraty, from Catch Me if You Can?

I actually like Glenn's program. MJ (that's Schnitt's FM name) is a useless piece of garbage.

That picture is hysterical. What's it from?

Glad you like it. It's from the old 1950 B&W movie "Harvey"

This excellent lighthearted film was adapted from the Pulitzer Prize winning hit play written by Mary Chase. Josephine Hull won a best supporting actress Oscar for her portrayal of Elwood P. Dowd's long suffering sister Veta Louise Simmons. James Stewart, who plays Dowd, was nominated for best actor in this 1950 film but lost out to Jose Ferrer in Cyrano de Bergerac.

Elwood P. Dowd is a friendly, likeable drunk who has a best friend named Harvey, a six foot three and a half inch invisible white rabbit. This movie was made back in the days when alcoholics could be likeable, unlike the era of intolerance we live in today where it seems as if everyone is a crusader for or against some real or perceived social or ecological issue. People have written disputing that Elwood P. Dowd is a drunk because you never see him take a drink during the movie. While it is true that you don't see him taking a drink in movie, you have to assume that he orders all those martinis for some reason. You also have to assume that he hides bottles in his bookcase at home for some reason, too.

Harvey is a pooka, which is described in the movie as, "From old Celtic mythology, a fairy spirit in animal form, always very large. The pooka appears here and there, now and then, to this one and that one. A benign but mischievous creature very fond of rumpots, crackpots, and...."

Jesse White does a good job portraying Marvin Wilson, the psychiatric orderly who totally mistrusts Elwood P. Dowd and isn't fond of him as the other characters in the movie seem to be. Veta Simmons' daughter, Myrtle May Simmons, is played by Victoria Horne. She is frustrated in her attempts to meet eligible gentlemen and blames her lack of suitable callers on Elwood and his large rabbit. She meets her soul mate in the form of Marvin Wilson, however.

Elwood P. Dowd tries, all through the movie, to introduce Harvey to everyone he meets but the only one who eventually sees him is Dr. Chumley, the psychiatrist. Dowd's sister Veta sometimes acknowledges the existence of Harvey but only when she's under extreme stress.

Some people may say that this movie is dated and out of touch with today's reality but maybe that's what gives it its charm.

Savage's latest attempt to grab ratings is to pretend to be a raging bull protectionist. He wants to slap huge tariffs on foreign cars to prop up GM and Ford, after lamenting that the US doesn't make TV or textiles anymore. What a putz.

Savage is desperate and probably losing listenership so he is trying to reinvent himself to a certain extent and differentiate himself from the the other conservative talk shows. In my personal opinion his act gets old and I don't think he will be around very long on the national stage. Yet he's third in radio ratings behind Rush and Dr.S.... and his book debuts at #6... yeah... he's going downhill. :/ Face it, some of us are sick of the 'bootlickers'

Hannity is just parrot of what he's fed by the RNC

Why do so many people say this, knowing it is a lie?

I absolutely love Michael Savage's show. He really hits it on the mark. Although I do differ with Savage on his stands on the other talkshow hosts, I do like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and so on, but I do like how Savage pulls no punches and brings to the front the problems we have as well as takes the Republicans to task when they are wrong.

I'll might as well say it, Savage '08! B-)

DANGER ALERT: When Republicans start blasting one another we lose elections.
If we stay united then the Democrats won't have a chance.

----"Whatever his problems are, he's a huge embarrassment to the conservative cause."

He displays all the symptoms of "Manic Depressive Psychosis"??

Also---his hate, obsession, pervasive anger and outright hostility, towards other conservative talk show hosts, speaks volumns about "who and what he is"

So William Donohue is a "hater" because he notes the selective indignation of the media in their coverage of the American Church's deplorable sex abuse scandal?

"Hater."

What's your agenda, Joesbucks?
