He claimed he would be around long after Rush is gone, that Rush is boring.

Do you disagree? Rush is reduced to reading (other people's) Op-Ed pieces on the air and talking about visiting the set of "24", where "everyone is a big fan of mine". He is so washed up and laughable. Savage is the future of talk radio. Rush is the past. A great legend to be sure, but his time has come and gone.

Rush talked about 24 for one day. Savage is NOT the future of talk radio. All Savage does is read off the Drudge report. Yeah thats inovative radio. His ratings aren't as good as he says they are. Ingraham, Levin, Hewitt and every other conservative commentator dwarfs him. He acts like a big shot because he beats Roger Hedgecock head to head. Big deal. He is a loser

If Savage is the "future of talk radio", talk radio is doomed.

Well, I disagree with you. Rush has far more listeners than Savage and besides that was not my point. Even if Savage were right (and I don't think he was), can't he find plents of RATS, liberals, and the MSM to go after rather than our own allies? What is his point in degarding other conservatives? To try to make himself look better?

I recently came across a VHS of Rush's "Rush to Excellence II" tour from 1990. The Rush of today is SOOO much better. Smarter, more clever, funnier, laser sharp and just downright RIGHT more often. I don't think he is washed up- I think he is aging very nicely.

I agree and disagree--I don't believe for a minute that Rush is "so washed up..." but I do believe that his best days are behind him. He has peaked and younger, hipper and sharper folks are nipping at his heels...

I cringe when Rush says he is "cutting edge" radio. He then proceeds to inform his listeners about some story that 98% of them were fully informed about 24-48 hours before via the internet...boring...

I DO love Rush's analysis--rare is the host who does it better.

Good. I don't have time to track down read all this stuff anyways. I trust Rush & his staff to find the best and pass it along.

And 99% of the writers he's reading are immeasurably influenced by the Maha's 16 years of radio domination & conservative thought.

He is so washed up and laughable.

No, your analysis is.

Savage is the future of talk radio. Rush is the past. A great legend to be sure, but his time has come and gone.

I like Savage until he devolves into super-nebbish, but he is not the future of talk radio. He'd be nothing w/o the Maha blazing the trail. Rush is what? early fifties? He has another 15 years of radio and four more wives to go through!!
