Fortunantly, i have managed to avoid THAT one.
HOWEVER, I DID have to over-night with my daughter ( age 2) in of the of the nastiest parts of St. Louis, because she ate something in Milwaukee and got food poisoning..
I nearly dialed 911 she cared me so bad.
thought that night would never end...

That reminds me of one young woman I met in Totonicapan, Guatemala. As I recall, she was just fifteen. Her teeth were so bad and were giving her such problems that she had them all pulled.Environmentalists would commend her for the "authentic" way she lives her life.

Agreed. All it takes is patience and will power. My son just turned 4 last week. By the time he was 2 he knew what had to be done and he was already doing it by himself. A few months after everything was going fine he decided he didn't have time to go all the way to the bathroom, a month after that he realized it was better to stop playing and hit the head for 5 minutes rather than sit around in a wet/soiled pair of Spiderman underwear.
We put a Pull-Up on him when he goes to bed (he's a deep sleeper) but only because once every 3 weeks he pees in his sleep. But this is the last pack we are buying. We should've stopped well over a year ago but we never got around to getting a plastic sheet for his mattress.

How can something be retro AND cutting-edge at the same time? Beats me. I'm still trying to figure out the part about "following the lead" of backward cultures ...

Read the rest of my post. I don't care about the necessary use of natural resources. That's why God gave them to us.

Freud was a nutcase, but I do wish he was still around, so he could spout some wildly entertaining theories about what ails these people.

Citing concerns about plastic disposable diapers clogging landfills How do you clog a landfill? It's nothing more than a pile of garbage. Nothing is supposed to flow through it so it can't get clogged. Besides, the only part of a diaper that is plastic is the thin outer layer. Probably less plastic than comes in ziplock bag.

Poor little guy. He looks really stressed out--ha, ha. That's the best picture I've seen in a while.

"People around the world who have no access to diapers manage to raise childrenIt's a lot easier to go diaperless when you have dirt floors.
I used cloth diapers, washed and re-used them. I was too cheap to buy disposables and my kids got more rashes from them.

Oh great, now we are going to have babies pooping and peeing all over the shopping cart seats. I'm sure those things are already filthy enough. Just think of all the illegal immigrants that'll find cash-under-the-table custodial jobs at the grocery stores. Of course, "Clean-up on Aisle Three" (or wherever) will sound odd in Spanish. Over and over and over again. Also, be prepared to navigate a veritable obstacle course, formed by those yellow plastic cones marked "Caution - Floor is Wet". Whoops! - make that "Piso Mohado".
The grocers (and everyone else with a storefront) better brace for a huge increase in "slip & fall" lawsuits. Can't you just see the late-night TV commercials from the firm of Dewey, Cheatham & Howe? Well, at least the "client testimonials" should be hilarous.
