Actually if you look at the average age for toilet training it has increased over the past few decades. Kids used to toilet train before the age of two. Now kids four and older are wearing diapers.

I would agree to this radical idea as long as I was able to hold my baby over the head of an enviro-wacko when poo-poo time arrives.

Obviously, these morons have never had children of their own.The disposable diaper and the garage door opener are the two greatest inventions of the 20th century.

Native American children had a 90% mortality rate before their first birthday. Why not protest for Bubonic Plague Rights while you're at it.

"There is a way to have a baby and NOT use diapers," says one website advocating diaperless babies. Parents are urged to get in tune with their infant's body signals and hold babies over toilets, buckets and shrubbery or any other convenient receptacle when nature calls.I've read about this at a baby/pregnancy site. One lady claimed her daughter was potty trained at 3 months. They claim that only Western countries do the diaper thing.

Like how to cope with high infant mortality and short life expectancies...And how to have six children so that two will live to adulthood.

OMG!!!
I can see it now!!! Mothers running around after naked kids with pooper scooper's and plastic bags!
Just like walking the dog in Ithica.

Aggghhhh!
it's the women who change a baby's diaper RIGHT THERE in a restaurant who get me. And then they get naasty if you say anything to them.
for cryin' out loud.
i didn't inflict my daughter's mess on anyone else...
Take the kid to the Ladies Room,, back to the car, or better still hire a baby-sitter and leave them home, or else don't go at all.
I am paying good money for this meal, and should not have tp see (or smell) your kid's diapers!

More commonalities between the 'Left' and the Jihadist. . .both have declared war on 'modernity'; our enemy within.

Envision a battalion of bare-butted, cape-wearing toddlers running around like Super Heroes, LOL!

>>"When the baby has to go, the parent holds him or her in a comfortable position over an appropriate toilet place and makes a cueing sound (perhaps a gentle "sss")."<<
Actually, I read about this about 5 years ago when I was looking into Potty Training my youngest daughter.
If I am not mistaken, the same cultures that use this form of training also masturbate their children to comfort them when they cry.
Oh yeah, this would be just the ticket /sarcasm off/.
When animals need to stimulate urination in their young, they lick the appropriate area. I think the greens should start with licking the urine and feces of their babies and then we will talk.

I don't think this could be any more funny if it HAD been a parody, which it certainly resembles.
When debating "cultural issues" with liberals, I sometimes throw up my hands and say "well, maybe using restrooms rather than relieving one's self in the street is 'societal repression' also. I always thought it was the most flippant, idiotic idea, and the logical extreme of a liberal philosophy which I never expected to come to pass.
But here it is, being advocated.
What the heck is a "dry toilet"?
Thank God Gore never got into the White House.

I got a concept for these idiots...here it comes...cloth diapers.
100% biodegradable, renewable, reusable, earth friendly and cheap.
When we had our first kid, we figured the cost. $10-15 per week for disposables vs. 60 cents for a load of laundry.
BTW, I'm about as far from a tree hugger as you can find. I planted a styrofoam cup on earth day to see if it would grow. While I practice "Leave No Trace" in the wilderness. Trees are a crop and should be managed and used as such.
