"A wise, culturally sensitive, confident, powerful President leads his important guest into the building."

Methinks some people never get out of their back yards.

Or, out of their toilets.

Hello? There's a wide world out there. And they don't all act strictly like we do. Thankfully.

The saudi government of today, imperfect as it is, is far better than any of the realistic alternatives.

It might be good for us but it's repressive for the Saudi people. They do not like their government. It's poor policy for Bush to meet these guys at his ranch as though they were good friends. A meeting at a convention center would prove that we deal with them because we have to, not because we are buddies.

They brushed cheeks. Looked more like Bush allowed the Prince to do the Prince's cultural thing, sort of.

So what if The President had have greeted The Prince in the Arab way.

No big deal. Perhaps even wise given how much of their oil we need.

I think you're quite right.

Though, thankfully, Laura is different!

I think Bush is smart enough and sensitive enough to have initiated if it seemed fitting.

Also, confident and comfortable enough in his manhood--compared to many posting in shrill tones about the issue.

Before they could get a grip,

they'd have to get a clue.

Probably, their local 7/11 is all out of clues.

Very different motives and feelings.

Discrimmination skills between what things are

SIMILAR

and what things are

DIFFERENT

are very good skills to have if one is interested in survival and success.

Jay Leno used that phrase last night in his monologue.

Not the first time I've seen some things posted here on their show. I am pretty sure we have many lurkers from various news and entertainment shows here.

I am sure there are things that we do here, which look peculiar in other cultures.

My European cousin thought it peculiar that we have the flag all over the place. There were some other things she thought were odd too. The biggest laugh I got came from an Italian cousin who came to visit. She thought it peculiar that there were actually ugly people in America! I had to explain that Hollywood just chooses the beautiful to be in movies - we are no prettier nor uglier than anyone else.

It's the slobbery, booze laden, tobacco stained goon lips that get pretty awful, indeed.

Ain't that the sad truth--much more logical than many on FR

can comprehend or make fitting use of.

I would submit that the feelings are similar, but the motives aren't.

No need to think anything that's bald faced wrong, rigidly narrow and ignorant as well as totally out to lunch.

The President is sensitive culturally, interpersonally, kinesthetically and geopolitically. I'm glad he's where he is with such skills. He deserves applause vs incredulous head shaking out of blind parochialism.

Interesting. Hadn't heard that one.

Certainly right about the hormone generated sort of thing with women.

Love as a decision is different amongst those of integrity, faithfulness and solid Biblical values.

Makes you sick? Forces you to be sick?

You seem to need

--more travel
--better education
--broader understanding of cultural differences
--greater confidence in your own gender stability
--less fossilized, narrow, rigid values criteria on petty issues
--. . .

Not an Arab nation

. . . yet.

Give Shrillery a chance.

She'd have us all bowing and scraping to the satanis moon god of Islam ASAP.
