What are you talking about? People try and fail all the time. Why do you think that is? People live otherwise healthy lives, then "mysteriously" drop dead of heart-attacks. Why do you think that is? Some live lives consumed with fatty foods, alcohol and tobacco, but live to be 100. People are put on "life-saving" machinery that fails. Others survive without such machinery, even when it's needed.

Out of curiousity, do you think that God has no control over the heart-beating/lung-breathing functions of that human body?

Sorry, sir. He controls life & death, we don't.

You seem to have some confusion that Prolonging or Continuing life is the equivalent of Ending it.

We are the creations of God and he does not step in and stop our lives. And clearly he does not end those which manifestly deserve ending.

This is a stupid argument and will get nowhere since neither you nor I know God's intentions.

However, it is simple to end lives. One of the most simple things in the world.

Sorry, I find it baffling that a self-professed Elder of a Presbyterian church doesn't believe in God's sovereignty.

I wasn't aware the Presbyterian's had embraced the "Divine Clockmaker" theology.

>>This is a stupid argument and will get nowhere since neither you nor I know God's intentions.<<

Perhaps, but contrary to what you think, scripture is loaded with evidence of God indeed "stepping in and stopping" people's lives.

>>However, it is simple to end lives.<<

Suit yourself, but I will never be so arrogant to assume that I have more power than what he'll allow me to have.

Events in scripture are not being repeated today now are they? Rather we are witness to the growth of anti-religious mentalities and Evil running rampant. Nations which in prior times at least pretended to act within his rules no longer even bother. Now abomination is glorified even within this country.

God gives US the power to act. For good or evil. The wages of sin are still death but God leaves the bringing of it to us. He doesn't act for us. No lightning bolt brought down Saddam we did.

I cannot even tell you what the main body of Presbyterian thought is today delusion is rampant within the ruling body. It apparently doesn't even recognize what Evil is or has completely been taken over by it.

God gives us Free Will and after that we are on our own to do good or evil with it. He has never indicated that suicide is good but it is within our power. Since he gave us that power you might claim he accepts it. But I don't.

If the believe in predestination is the essence of Presbyterianism then I am a PINO.

"I have three sex offenders living in one apartment - not one apartment complex, ONE APARTMENT - about half a mile from me."

"I'm trying to figure out what law enforcement agency to call to report the RSO nest."

Did you ever think they might have been set up there by some social agency? I read a while ago about a hostel set up FOR sex offenders because they couldn't find places to live. Supposedly they are totally supervised (not allowed out after dark, etc.) Supposedly.

I'd hate to think a social agency set up an RSO nest in the middle of an otherwise normal apartment complex. It's possible, though.

I wonder how we find out about that "total" supervision.

Hey, I'll say it: you ain't much of a Presbyterian if you deny the doctrine of Predestination. I mean, it IS in all of the Presbyterian confessions.

Yeah, ain't it glorious?

You see, as a Partial Preterist Amill, nothing you say bothers me in the least. It doesn't dethrone God; it doesn't defeat Predestination. Rather, it affirms Scripture:

Psa 110:1-2 GB
(1) A Psalme of David. The Lord said vnto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, vntill I make thine enemies thy footestoole.
(2) The Lord shall send the rod of thy power out of Zion: be thou ruler in the middes of thine enemies.

In the service of the Lord,
Christian.

I know. I hadn't gone in there FOR anything and there he was, choking on that cord. Good thing my silver cord was working that day. The same child tipped a refrigerator over on himself one day but it caught the end of a trunk my first hubby was refinishing. He has 9 lives.

Thanks, Quilla. I've heard of that remedy. I'll have to try it. Would it be dissolved in hot water or put on something?

I assumed one would sprinkle it on toast in the morning, but I can't be certain. See spectre's comment at 621 for information on cinnamon capsules available at Walmart.

spectre, I'm a diabetic. I've heard of cinnamon capsules and would be interested in taking them. Have they really helped your blood sugar?

A PPA, eh? Have at it and nothing I say is intended to bother you in the least anymore than your judgments about me will affect me in the least.

That's the way I read him too. Renatus, are Skooz and I correct?

Yes you are. It is my conviction that the introduction of the pill was and is the foundation stone for the culture of death. The culture of death which is so apparent in abortion, embryonic stem-cell research, etc. took hold with the widespread use of the "pill" and other artificial means of birthcontrol. The popes in recent decades have warned of this and what they said has come to pass. The culture of death is THE greatest threat to our world and may very well bring about its demise. Communism, Fascism, Nazism, all pale in comparison.

Any updates on this sad situation ??
Apologies if it's up there and I missed it.

The theologians invaded and the thread went to hell.
(a lot like real life, actually ;-)

I know I am a little late on this thread, but after reading what you posted, I wanted to comment.

I feel as though you are right. There was a sting in Texas not too long ago to verify if RSO were actually residing at the address that they were registered at. Only 3 percent were actually living where they said they were. That is scary. I would like to see offenders wear a bracelet. Some sort if tracking device. so the public knows where they are at all times. I don't know if I am for RSO being grouped together or not, but if I had them in my neighborhood, I would want to know which "Nest" to steer my kids away from.
