AIR AMERICA RADIO INVESTIGATED AFTER BUSH 'GUNSHOTS'

**Exclusive**

The red-hot rhetoric over Social Security on liberal talkradio network AIR AMERICA has caught the attention of the Secret Service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Government officials are reviewing a skit which aired on the network Monday evening -- a skit featuring an apparent gunshot warning to the president!

The announcer: "A spoiled child is telling us our Social Security isn't safe anymore, so he is going to fix it for us. Well, here's your answer, you ungrateful whelp: [audio sound of 4 gunshots being fired.] Just try it, you little bastard. [audio of gun being cocked]."

The audio production at the center of the controversy aired during opening minutes of The Randi Rhodes Show.

"What is with all the killing?" Rhodes said, laughing, after the clip aired.

"Even joking about shooting the president is a crime, let alone doing it on national radio... we are taking this very seriously," a government source explained.

[A Randi Rhodes Fan site is offering an mp3 clip of the broadcast.]

There are only so many "neo-conservative Walmart fundie corporate fascist Halliburton Big Oil" discussions you can listen to before you fall asleep.

As I was watching Blue Collar TV the other day, it occured to me: This show is funny because rednecks can laugh at themselves. We don't take ourselves seriously. The Left is only interested in attacking others. They are not funny, just mean spirited. I watched the HBO special on Air America until I couldn't stand it anymore. They only want to slam Bush. I would rather be with a redneck any day than one of these self important bores.

I'd like to hear Tom Daschle's take on this kind of programming. And HOW DARE RR use a fake name that is that of one of the Big Guitar Heroes of the 80's?

Maybe Garofalo just burped.

Or dispelled gas in an unseemly manner.

Can you imagine if Rush, Gelnn Beck, or Jay Severin played a skit featuring Bill Clinton (during his term) and gunshots???

Let the audits begin, during that era.. if they did this it was totally over the line. Debate in the arena of ideas but joking about murdering the President, that's incendiary.

MORE ON RANDI RHODES:

(RHODES IS THE “BEAUTIFUL” BLONDE TO ROSIE’s RIGHT)

I listened to her “once” (for about 20 minutes) and that was enough for me.

Heard her mention about her having been in Air Force and made me gag (having spent 8 years myself) and wondered, “whose Air Force.”

Now, the truth comes out.

On her site (and all over) it is noted that she was voted “Most Outstanding Woman in the Air Force in 1979.”

(THERE IS A DISCREPANCY AS TO WHAT YEAR SHE DID RECEIVE SAID AWARD 1973 or 1979?)

No details and not interested on how she got that distinguished award. Being cynical, and having heard her raunchy diatribe, I would venture to guess it was probably not what she “knew” as opposed to who she “ _ _ _ _?”

A little due diligence suggests that MZ Rhodes, was not exactly a “model” Air Force Person:

Lana Sumpter, Tribune Staff Writer writes in the Port St. Lucie (Fla.) Tribune and Fort Pierce (Fla.) Tribune, on 2/5/95 “

“As a child, she wanted to be a writer and religiously wrote entries in her journal -- at least until her mother read it. Her journal caused so much strife at home that she stopped writing. When her dream of writing stalled, so did her sense of direction. The change signaled the beginning a troubled period.

'When I stopped writing, I got lost,' Rhodes said. 'I ended up thrown out of the house at age 15.'

She says she is grateful that she knew enough to finish high school.

‘God knows what would have happened if I hadn't stayed in school.’

To pay the rent, Rhodes worked as a secretary for three years and was miserable.

In her quest to get where she is today, she also has been a truck driver and a disc jockey.

However, the most life-changing period, she said, was the two years she spent in the Air Force.

There, she learned to love and respect herself, to value herself for her brains.

She learned that looks and the ability to apply makeup didn't really mean as much as she had previously thought. In 1973, she was named outstanding Air Force female.

Despite all that she learned in the Air Force, a man with whom she shared a rocky relationship ended her Air Force career.

He was, according to Rhodes," somewhat insane," and insisted that they leave the Air Force without notice. He threw their belongings in the back of their truck, and they headed for Ohio.

The Air Force was so embarrassed that they let the matter drop and did not seek to prosecute the couple for going AWOL.”

(AWOL? I BELIEVE, BASED UPON PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE, THAT THIS CONSTITUTED, DESERTION)

CONTINUING:

Rhodes never attended college -- officially. On her own and unable to afford tuition, she attended classes surreptitiously for several years, though not enrolled. Some of the classes were law courses and that background has helped her in her commentary on the Simpson proceedings.

Jim (they're best friends), to her thoughts on women's health-care reform (women are often misdiagnosed because of a male health-care bias) as well her belief in human rights for homosexuals (her lesbian sister, Ellen, is, she quips, a "vagitarian").

Must admit, I like that definition of a lesbian, and plan on usurping it for future use!

Rhodes is definitely female. At least she was the couple times I listened to her. Once, she was going on about her impending hysterectomy.

Typical CTU MO: We need to send somebody into a potentially fortified terrorist cell or to extract critical information from a location likely to be targeted by a terrorist cell; so let's send two people and make sure one of them is unarmed

And if there happens to be a gun in the car, make sure its locked in the backseat, requires a code to access, and be sure not to give the code to the agents, LOL!

The problem is that the Left doesn't see this as a steop over the line? How many T-Shirts, Posters, videos, skits, etc have we heard about over the last few years that call for his death? And the SS investigates, but no one seems to have charges pressed against them.

And we over here make similar jokes but we don't step over the line and JimRob would rightly shut us down if we did. I think the closest joke I've seen here is the folks who say that have "Run, Hillary Run" bumber stickers on the fronts of their car.

According to Michelle Malkin, she has done this crap before,in May 2004:

Comparing Bush and his family to the Corleones of "Godfather" fame, Air America host Randi Rhodes reportedly unleashed this zinger during her Monday night broadcast: "Like Fredo, somebody ought to take him out fishing and phuw. "

Rhodes then imitated the sound of a gunshot.

In "Godfather II," Fredo Corleone is executed by brother Michael at the end of the film.

"A spoiled child ...you ungrateful whelp: ...Just try it, you little bastard"

In all the furor over the gunshot FX, aren't we missing the truly hilarious writing going on at AA? "Just try it, you little bastard"--wow, my sides hurt from laughing. So clever, such satire--pretending to shoot someone who is trying to save a system liberals foisted on us.

Now, they're the "intellectuals" over there on the left, right?
