The MSM still doesn't get it. The plummeting ratings are due to the American people being sick of the networks spoon feeding them their news with a liberal bias. That massive clicking sound is a chorus of remotes turning off Katie.

"KILL them for buffalo burgers.." - so what Katie?

kill fish for fish & chips
kill cows for steaks and burgers
kill pigs for BBQ pork, sausage, bacon, ham...
kill lamb for chops
kill chickens for damn near every dish imaginable

Katie, we're all rational adults here, we all realize the word kill is associated with what humans eat. Stop trying to sensationalize it for your own purposes.

that all changed when she opened her mouth.
Maybe I did too. I've disliked her for so long now I can't remember!

maybe she can move to Neverland and sleep in a hyperbaric chamber like Michael Jackson. A few plastic surgeries can make her button nose look just like his.

skin bleach can hide those liver spots, and perhaps she can embelm herself, too.

Bryant Gumbel, who was considered the heavy when they were Today Show co-anchors once complained, "I've had one assistant for 18 years. Somebody who shall remain nameless went through five in five years. I had one makeup and hair person the whole time I was at NBC. Somebody who shall remain nameless went through three or four."

It's pretty bad when you make Bryant Gumbel look selfless and attitude-free.

Goofy title here. When they say "Her Cuteness" they mean to refer to Qaty al-Khouriq the person, as in "[Qaty] becomes a liability..."

But as written, it is more likely to be read as "Qaty's cuteness becomes a liability..." As if to say, ratings are going down because she's too cute (as if).

Yeah, I know, "Her Cuteness" is capitalized, like "Her Highness," but at first glance, the capitalization looks like a function of being part of the article title, rather than being Qaty's honorary title.

I think her popularity went down as soon as she went blonde.

I think Katie's cute.

Then again, I like older women.

I'm also a gastroenterologist.

I think it is written: "Pride comes before the fall". So sad to see her trash her career. I think she would make a good endoscopy tech with a little training.

Katie, if you're reading this, give me a call if things get too rough.

the Times has assessed Katie as a liability and concluded that Today needs a lot less of her

Since Katie seems to live and breathe the NYT, it's almost as if she's been hoisted with her own petard.

You might know her as America's affable little Eva Braun.

From today's Page Six:

April 27, 2005 -- WITH stagnant ratings at the "Today" show, the firing of executive producer Tom Touchet and Alessandra Stanley's vicious takedown of Katie Couric in the Times, NBC Universal Television president Jeff Zucker seemed thrilled to be in front of a friendly audience at yesterday's Shop Etc. magazine's annual sales meeting. "I'm happy to be here," Zucker said in his opening remarks. "Anything to take my mind off the 'Today' show." When asked whom he would steal from another network, Zucker quickly responded, "I'd love to rip off Kelly Ripa because she's as natural as you can get on TV. I think she's fantastic. Incredibly talented."

Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

For the first time EVER, I actually tuned in Today. There she was; anything but perky and cute is a stretch. She was interviewing the Doctor that delivered the quints here in Phoenix (my first grandchild was born yesterday here also).

My overall impression is that, if she was ever was a "star", it has long since faded.

I really do believe Don Imus is easier to watch!

She has that nasty habit of curling her upper lip into a slight little snarl when she interviews someone she disagrees with.
