you know she's in trouble when the headlines degrade her from "perky" to merely "cute".

Yep, just an ordinary mom with a $15-million-a-year paycheck, a Park Avenue co-op, a millionaire boyfriend, a high-priced personal trainer, and the power to control two prime hours of TV five mornings a week. Sure, just an ordinary working mom!

Her Cuteness becomes a liability
Cuteness? Since when?
To: veronica
I remember watching her on C-Span a few years ago with a panel that included W.F. Buckley, among others. She did not contribute a single comment or opinion in the one hour plus long show. But her cutsie-assed "I'm just a little girl morning hostess" act was the most nauseating routine I've ever witnessed. May her career go down in flames as quickly as possible.

I don't think a woman of Katie's age should ever be described as perky. I never could stand her. Remember she wore black like a widow for a week after Bush was re-elected. Her mascara all over her face, lol.
Every dog has its day.

"Now that the Times has assessed Katie as a liability..."
It seems like the Times follows the rest of the world at a distance of about 11 years! They just figured this out???!!!

I loved this morning's exchange with her and that Baltimore police officer about the escaped buffalo that had to be rounded up yesterday.
Katie: "Well, it's our understanding that the owner of the buffalo was raising them to kill for buffalo burgers. After all you went through yesterday to save these buffalo, what do you all think about that?"
Policeman: "We worked hard to round the buffalo up for the sake of the safety of Baltimore citizens, so it really doesn't make any difference to us."
HAHAHAHAHA! Mr. HR and I got a real kick out of that.

"We've all watched as Katie has grown richer, smugger, and more chic."
The change was completely obvious. As soon as she felt like she had appropriate clout her agenda and delusions of grandeur became apparent. This lady is overcome with anger.
The Today Show producers are growing weary of simply being her personal soapbox, now apparently at the expense of profits. It will be fun to watch her age from this point as she slowly becomes more angry, irrational, and irrelevant.

She is a vapid tv hostess. About as important to me as yesterday's cat litter.

I stopped watching the Today show and also network news about four years ago and have never been happier. I never liked Katie to begin with. I thought she was way too flighty for her own good.
To: veronica
But what I think has contributed to Katie's major loss of appeal is that millions of women have finally caught onto the liberal bias in much of her reporting.
Naw, not Katie. Shes an independent puppet.
(I know, it needs updating.)

Katie Couric?....Never heard of her.
To: veronica
The MSM still doesn't get it. The plummeting ratings are due to the American people being sick of the networks spoon feeding them their news with a liberal bias. That massive clicking sound is a chorus of remotes turning off Katie.

The MSM is in a state of PANIC!!!!!

Bryant Gumbel, who was considered the heavy when they were Today Show co-anchors once complained, "I've had one assistant for 18 years. Somebody who shall remain nameless went through five in five years. I had one makeup and hair person the whole time I was at NBC. Somebody who shall remain nameless went through three or four." It's pretty bad when you make Bryant Gumbel look selfless and attitude-free.

Goofy title here. When they say "Her Cuteness" they mean to refer to Qaty al-Khouriq the person, as in "[Qaty] becomes a liability..."
But as written, it is more likely to be read as "Qaty's cuteness becomes a liability..." As if to say, ratings are going down because she's too cute (as if).
Yeah, I know, "Her Cuteness" is capitalized, like "Her Highness," but at first glance, the capitalization looks like a function of being part of the article title, rather than being Qaty's honorary title.
