Ohio Governor Bob Taft signed legislation Tuesday authorizing motorists to purchase Choose Life license plates. Proceeds from sales of the plates will benefit pregnancy centers around the state that provide abortion alternatives -- but only if the plates survive an expected lawsuit.

Sen. Jim Jordan, a Republican from Urbana, sponsored the license plate bill, which asks drivers to spend $30 extra for the specialty plates, with $20 going to the pregnancy centers.

The measure specifically prohibits abortion businesses or any agency that refers from abortions from receiving donations from the plate sales.

The Ohio bill becomes law in 90 days and the pro-abortion American Civil Liberties Union says it will likely file a lawsuit against the plates.

The pulled the same crap here in Tennessee and sued claiming that the plates were unconstitutional because the pro-abortion crowd were denied their constitutional right because they were not granted a "Choose Infanticide" (or whatever) plate as well.

A judge with one eye and a grain of sense would have thrown out the suit ruling they had no legal grounds to sue on because no one has sought and been denied a "Choose Murder" plate. In other words, the judge ruled that anytime a pro-life sentiment was expressed on any state issued paper, the "Pro-Abortion" sentiment MUST be expressed.

here in alabama we have those same choose life plates they also offer a planned parenthood plate which i am yet to see on a car seen plenty of the yellow choose life plates though
