That has to have a lot to do with it - the electronics, automotive and "home improvement" industries have every 20 year old thinking he/she has to have a 60" plasma on the wall and a BMW in the driveway - MTV Cribs and whatnot.

Valid points as well. In my case, I'm still watching the same TV we got when I was in 10th grade, a 1982 Zenith that we got in early 1983. Heck, when we got that TV, it was cable ready and MTV came in fine, trouble is, they only played music videos then. B-)

We brought a discarded, damaged but repaired (duct tape around the plastic)19" TV from Northridge to Nashville; we also had a 10 y/o 19" that we put in the living room. When they finally died, we bought a "new" 19" from a hotel being remodeled for $90 and traded it for a monaural 27" Zenith with a preference for blue grass.

The 17 y/o kid from down the street (the straight one) was here for his monthly battery charge yesterday and he's working for Sears now and got a steal on a 42" HDTV wide-screen so he can play computer games, rewired an X-Box and dumped a 240 Gig HD in it and thinks most kids his age are too mad for fads.
