Planned Parenthood Plans Campaign Against Benedict XVI

New York, May. 04, 2005 ( CNA ) - Planed Parenthood has launched a campaign to motivate all of its members and supporters, nominal Catholics and non-Catholics, to send letters to the editor, requesting that Pope Benedict XVI reconsider his “backward views” and change his opinion on sexual morality.

Pope Benedict XVI must be encouraged to “reconsider his dangerously outdated stances on birth control, abortion and sexuality in order to help move the Catholic Church into the 21st century,” reads a memo issued by campaign manager Eve Fox.

“The new Pope's positions on these crucial issues pose a terrible danger to the health of millions of women and girls around the world and undermines efforts to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS,” Fox wrote.

The campaign manager justified this action, saying that the “the Church has tremendous influence over many governments, especially in Latin America, and plays a powerful role in shaping social and political norms around the world.”

Calling him “even more conservative” than Pope John Paul II, Fox told her supporters that Pope Benedict XVI is “against all forms of contraception and opposes the use of condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS.”

Prior to being elected Pope, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger “told Catholics in the U.S. it would be a sin to vote for pro-choice candidates like John Kerry, and urged bishops to deny Kerry Communion. He has also led the Catholic Church's campaign against same-sex marriage and other rights for same-sex couples, including the right to adopt children,” wrote Fox.

ROFLOL - Those people are so stuffed with their idea of self-importance. As if the Pope will consider what they say.

But what is really funny is that these type of organizations, who mainly don't believe in organized religion anyway, would care how the religious act, or what rules the Church has. It is like they are saying "God's word does not matter, you don't matter, your beliefs don't matter, your ideas don't matter and are out-dated, etc. --- But, we want you to change your way of thinking anyway. ---- Just in case some people believe the same way and just might feel guilty."

By trying to force the Church to make declarations they feel are more in line with their thinking, they are actually giving credence and more importance to the rulings of the Church and the significance religion has in people's lives.

The more all these anti-religion organizations fight to take religion away from society, the more society will stand up and fight to keep it in our world. Even those who are not real devout in their faith do not want their life to be void of the hope that religion gives and the laws of morality that are the basis of its teachings.

Thanks for the ping!

Well, I see that the left considers this a political and publicity campaign. We are going to get letters to the editor, followed by fake Catholics on C-Span, followed by demonstrations and eventually they will try to attack real Catholics that hold public office.

I bet they try to stop Pope Benedict from visiting the USA, too.

Well, this will make a lot of lukewarm Catholics sit up and take notice. I think we are approaching another "sheep and goats" moment. I know who the goats are.

The battle lines are indeed being drawn, and they are being drawn very fast. The Pope has not even been in there on the Seat of Peter, for two weeks and already Satan is very upset at the resounding slap he, the Evil One, was delivered in the Sistine Chapel, when the Holy Spirit, through the Conclave, selected the new leader to take on the world's filth and darkness--everything his past writings indicate.

Satan's libertine and pro-death minions will materialize overnight, worldwide, and particularly in the USA, through Planned Parenthood demos, and with the homosexual lobby, what with their Pentacost Sunday "Rainbow Sash" demonstrations right during masses in the US. I am sure the word is out from the Vatican that nobody receives the Holy Eucharist who goes into these churches and disrupts them in the service of the Evil One.And I for one home some burly Knights of Columbus show these disrupters the door wherever they appear, in brotherly, firm 'love'.

It is interesting, really interesting, to see the battle between Light/Truth/Good vs. Darkness/Lies/Evil, shaping up before our own eyes.

What an unbelievable and arrogant statement. Good grief! As if the Pope would even bother listening to these people.

Planned Parenthood wants the Catholic Church to sanction murder and sodomy.

How dare Benedict XVI and the Holy Bible stand in the way of progress! /sarcasm

Good Evening, NYer, and Thorin, thanks for the ping.

Well, I guess this puts the final stamp of approval on our new Pope. If PP wasn't going to plan a campaign against him, and was already beginning their (expected) rhetoric, then I would have felt that His Holiness Benedict XVI wasn't getting all the praise he justly deserves.

However, since the harbingers of the Culture of Death have duly weighed in, the final imprimatur has been given, and he is, indeed, continuing the pious and excellent traditions of those who have gone before.

Keep the Faith for Freedom

Greg

Have the "planned parenthood" (left) wing-nuts considered that when abortion is necessary the "female" already HAD unprotected sex....which is the CAUSE of AIDS?

That WASN'T "holy water" folks.
And the Pope isn't responsible for an individual's stupidity.

"Planned Parenthood Plans Campaign Against Benedict XVI"

There's an old adage planned parenthood if forgetting. "Screw with the bull, and your likely to get the horns."
Let's see here, 1.5 billion Catholics of which the ones actually following Catholicism pretty much all appose abortion versus maybe a thousand or so activist from planned parenthood?
In my opinion, they are going to have big problems if Catholics decide to respond in kind.
