" Well, who isn't? It is amazing that so many straw-graspers mis-construe this to mean that she wants to seal the border."
It ain't me. I know she's only talking. Recently she was invited to meet with some Christian leader on abortion. After all she said (to the effect): "this country needs a dialog on abortion". Well, she had her chance to start the dialog, and chose not to. So, you don't need to convince me that she's full of crap, I've known it from day one. But mark my words, if ANY Dem is willing to talk tough on illegals, but no Republican leader will, there will be millions of Republicans that will be attracted (just as they were to Perot).

No, not quite. But I do remember Republicans by the millions running over to Ross Perot in 1992, thus help clearing the way for 8 years of Clinton (which quickly gave us a Republican Congress, so some good came out of it). To this day, I'll never understand those people, there was no way to reason with them. So do fear them, and I am convinced that some will go to Hillary (or someone else that will talk tough on illegals), just like they went to Perot, to "send a message" I don't think they will go to hillary although she will try. And the difference between her and Perot is that Perot didn't have the baggage hillary does.

The quotes from previous Republican Party platforms regarding immigration and illegal immigration is very interesting. I had not previously seen such a collection of quotes.
Cong. Tancredo should stay in the Republican Party. He is a true patriot. Cong. Cannon is a supporter of illegal aliens. I hope Cong. Tancredo runs for president in 2008.
To: mondoman
Chris Cannon is no patriotic American. At best, he has vested interests.

Cong. Tancredo should stay in the Republican Party. He is a true patriot. Who backstabbed Tom Delay, when he saw liberal media lights.

Sorry I had to help my wife get the house ready for our housewarming party this weekend so I signed off of FR for the night....

IMO, It is Bush who should reconsider identifying himself as a Republican. Allowing illegals free reign in this Country while taxpayers provide them with all their needs is exactly what a liberal democrat would do....for votes.
To: mondoman
It's time to let Cannon know that the majority of American people DO want to boot illegal aliens.

Tank is a Conservative Hillary. He is an opportunist first and he will be exposed as such as we near election time in 2008.

Thank you for this magnificent posting. My hero, TR. Wish we had another statesman like HIM.

The open borders RINOs like to run around pretending that "xenophobic racists" are trying to "hijack" the Republican Party, when in fact the GOP has consistently supported DEPORTING illegal aliens and DENYING them government handouts and "guest worker" programs since the 1870s. Tancredo's views have wholeheartedly embraced by the party for decades.
If anyone is trying to "hijack" the beliefs of the Republican Party, it is the open borders lobby. President Bush's views on immigrant are not in line with the traditional Republican agenda either.

Wanting illegal immigration to not be illegal isnt the same as being against illegal immigration.
