I am a big Yankee fan. Have been since I began to understand baseball back in 1973-74 (age 4). I stuck with them in the hell years of the 80's and early 90's when Mel Hall, Andy Hawkins, Dave Lapointe and the rest of the scrubs stunk up the place alongside all time greats like Mattingly, Righetti and Winfield.
This team is more disappointing than any of them. When Andy Hawkins lost a no-hitter 4-0, I thought it could not get worse. I was wrong.
The Yanks have made the likes of Mark Hendrickson, Hideo Nomo, and Doug Waechter look like Sandy Koufax, Don Dreysdale and Steve Carlton.
Williams looks awful, Giambi is done, and Wright was a horrible signing. This week we had back to back starters who have a grand total of 1 major league start between them....thats no good.
When you drop 3 out of 4 to the freakin DEVIL RAYS, thats unacceptable.
I love the Yankees, I always will. Baseball is my favorite sport, the Yanks are my team. Right now, they stink worse than John Kerry. Worse than Barbara Boxer. Worse than..well...they are better than the Royals...but not by much !
Right now playing against the Yankees is the cure for what ails you. What will cure the Yanks? Right now, no one knows.

I do not care if the Red Sox ever win another game.
The Yankees choked so bad last October that it is ridiculous to consider the matter seriously, and so MLB is a fraud. I was a huge fan of the Red Sox in my youth.
Yaz was also my hero for years.

I believe that the New England Patriots are the very best organization in all of professional sports, and they are likely to continue their winning ways. Baseball, on the other hand, is likely to go the way of the NHL.
IMHO, good riddance!
By way of contrast, fans of the teams in the Yankees' division root for the Yankees to lose just as enthusiastically as they root for their own teams to win. ....a fairly pathetic state of affairs, and a sure indication of incurable envy.
