Thailand also has a very large problem with 80% of its prostitutes having HIV/AIDS. ROTFLMAO! Which NGO did you get this made up statistic from?

That's the second time I've heard that. The other guy said something to the effect that the transvestites will act more feminine than real women kind of like a white kid trying to imitate a black kid from the ghetto.

Man Hands, Adam's Apple, unusual height and/or gait.
Difficult to disguise those things under makeup and silk.

I bet THAT doesn't get to the slick, glitzy travel. brochures.Ha ha ha.
I'm glad the MSM keeps churning out these bogus reports and allegations, because it keeps the rubes out of paradise.
By the way, did you know that there are thugs and brigands on every streetcorner of New York City? I read it in the Bangkok Post!

"Man Hands, Adam's Apple, unusual height and/or gait"
There is an operation to turn around the Adam's Apple now. Hands and height - many, many men have smaller and more delicate hands and are shorter than many, many women. All the top models and Miss Thailand types (real women) are way, way taller than most men anyway. Gait - again, sometimes just a little too feminine.
Someone said "shoulders". Yes, that and to some degree hands are some of the things the careful second look is for - after the initial shock at seeing such a beautiful woman. Hey, many are clearly men, way over made up and ugly and disgusting to look at. However, my point was, and is, that a significant percent of the at-first-glance absolutely knockout 'women' that one sees on the street or nightclubs are transvestites
I love ragging friends that come here that are very, very intolerant of gays when they gape open-mouthed and want to talk to one of these 'girls'.

I don't know about the psychology, but a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Have a look at reply #13.
BTW, note the hands.

I live in Pattaya. My only excuse is, it is not the same place it was when I moved to Thailand 15 years ago. ;-)

The first time I was in BKK, we had an unusually tall "waitress" at a restaurant on Sukhumvit.
Then I saw the hands.
It was a Seinfeld moment, reminded me of the famous Man Hands episode.

Ha ha ha. I'm glad the MSM keeps churning out these bogus reports and allegations, because it keeps the rubes out of paradise. By the way, did you know that there are thugs and brigands on every streetcorner of New York City? I read it in the Bangkok Post!Thailand admits its terrible problem with prostitution and HIV/AIDS. The sex industry there has been infamous for at least 30 years that I knew. I lived in the middle east way back amd Bangkok was the sex vacation spot for so many Arabs....and nonArabs, too. It was cheap, cheap, cheap. Er. "everything" was included. It was almost a cliche., especially with the name of their capital.
Rather sad and pathetic, not humorous at all. Their statistics on AID/HIV always makes the international news. They do better with condom distribution than before, but there still is the same attitudes towards the sex industry, backed up by their government tourist industry.
Perhaps you would like it to be all a giant right wing conspiracy by the MSM AND Halliburton. Too bad it's the truth. All you have to do it read and read and read international news for the past 40 years like I have done.

Prostitution is illegal in Thailand. Feel free to snicker, but it is true. Therefore the gov't tends to not publish or even acknowledge a lot of info relating to it such as the rate of AIDS in prostitutes. It is possible that they did publish such a figure, but if so, it is ridiculous.
