I can't help but feel that we are about to enter a time of real persecution. Stand up for your faith and either a) lose your job, or b) go to jail.I've seen it coming for a long time... some links:

RE: going to jail. I wonder what the authorities would do if all Christians refused to obey these laws against speaking up in defense of traditional marriage & refusing to cooperate in a bogus marriage between two people of the same gender. The jails could not hold all of the people. It would be like the Danes in WWII all choosing to wear a Star of David to foil the Nazis who insisted the Jews wear a Star of David. Then the ridiculous nature of the silly laws would be more evident.
As long as we cower before the threat of jail, they will prevail. If we stand up to these idiots and say, "OK, put me in jail!" - eventually the laws will be revoked.
God bless Archbishop Henry of Calgary for speaking up despite threats from Canadian government authorities.

Very true. We must pray for courage and stand by our convictions.

"The mood of springtime informs the church's interior; nature's blossoming, the warm air of May evenings, human gladness in a world that is renewing itself -- all these things enter in. Veneration of Mary has its place in this very particular atmosphere, for she, the Virgin, shows us faith under its youthful aspect, as God's new beginning in a world that has grown old. In her we see the Christian life set forth as a youthfulness of the heart, as beauty and a waiting readiness for what is to come."
-- Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Seek That Which is Above (Ignatius, 1986), pp. 95-96.

Totalitarianism is already here in that form: Chuck Schumer, who never misses a chance to condemn Christians for thinking "I'm right and you're wrong," says pharmacists who refuse to dispense abortifacients should lose their jobs.

You're absolutely right. This is their idea of "tolerance" (i.e. "You're intolerant if you don't agree with me.") We need to call them on the absurdity of that statement. Or more specifically, we need to mock them for the absurdity of that statement! Mock the devil and he will flee from you!

Asked about allowing same sex couples to adopt children, the Cardinal answered, "This would destroy the child's future, it would be an act of moral violence against the child." Amen, brother.

The Pope is doing what needs to be done. He is standing up against evil.

"
For example, there's no longer a social stigma attached to having sex outside of marriage".
What about all the couples living together and then have a big, glorious white wedding at Mass, no less.
How can this be?

Once again, nobody says anything about it. Kids today are taught not to pass moral judgment and that has made a big difference. I decided long ago that I wouldn't consider marrying a woman unless she was a virgin. I found one 12 years ago - so it's possible.
The grand experiment conducted by the left has proven a failure. Our behavior has consequences, and bad behavior has bad consequences. We have to recognize that again.

God Bless you and your wife.
My daughter and her husband also found each other 16 years ago. How wonderful to know that your life partner hasn't been screwing around for years. Makes your life together so special.
This Country has lost most of its morals.
