What has interested me lately is listening to the political pundits, DeLay is apparently one of the nicest guys around Washington, a town not known for people being nice. Now maybe they are being sarcastic but I have heard this time and again recently.

Good for them. DeLay also gets a lot of votes from Fort Bend County. Wonder if the County Chairman there (Eric Thode) and the Executive Committee of Fort Bend County will stand up and do the same? Or have they already?

Several of the Precinct Chairs in Fort Bend are in the process of submitting resolutions. Thode doesn't have regular meetings so will have to call one.

Good ... as long as Bev Carter isn't putting together one of the submissions.

DeLay and his wife are very active in foster care programs and other efforts to protect children. Of course, you see almost no reporting on that in the MSM. Thank goodness the local Fort Bend Southwest Sun thinks its news . . . .

Keys presented for Rio Bend foster homes

The foundations for the homes in Rio Bend 1500 Pultar Road, Richmond were poured on Dec. 22, 2004.

On April 29, Perry Homes' representative Steve Jennings presented the keys to 8 homes to keys to Christine DeLay, Chairman of the Board, Rio Bend. Rio Bend will become home to 8 foster families this summer.

This will be a true community for foster children.

Residents will always have a family to call their own and a place to come home. All parents will be trained and professional caregivers whose first goal is to create a safe and permanent home for their kids.

All of the residents will enjoy playgrounds, a chapel, practice ball fields, swimming pool, gymnasium and sand volleyball courts. Phase II will add more homes and guest quarters for returning residents.

The first of its kind, Rio Bend is a model for what foster care can and will become. It is our goal for this project to become a national model that can be replicated in other communities throughout the United States, caring for and healing our nation's abused and neglected children.

You might want to introduce a similar resolution at the next Galveston County GOP Executive Committee meeting.
