Robert Moses was a genius. While growing up in NYC, I took for granted all the great engineering and architectural structures of that city. And the wonderful beaches and parks...so much of it the result of the cooperative genius of Moses and Olmstead.
I still miss NYC, even after being away for 50 years.

Well I did like Jones Beach and the Shore-Belt Pathway/Bike Trail in Brooklyn. Can't say I really cared for the Gowanus Expressway and what it did to the neighborhood, however.
Amazing how it took one arrogant pr-ck with delusions of grandeur (Nelson Rockefeller) to take out another arrogant pr-ck (Robert Moses) with similar delusions. Well, at least Moses never built anything as atrocious as Empire State Plaza in Albany, aka Brasilia on the Hudson.

"I still miss NYC, even after being away for 50 years." Everyone should be made to visit NYC every few years so they can appreciate where they live.
Actually, its a pretty fun town, to visit.
