“It must happen next week,” Manuel Miranda, chairman of the National Coalition to End the Judicial Filibuster, said during last week’s recess.

I am for this option, of course, but I am sick and tired of these people demanding that the GOP pander to their every whim. And I don't mean on just this issue.

Frist has his reasons.

You mean the people that vote for them, the people they work for?

And I don't mean on just this issue.

It's boilng down to zero sum.

If Frist does not get it done, the Repubs have a major problem. A lot of us have swallowed a lot of spit for so many elections. I for one, am done with it, unless they stand and deliver on this.

Yes. Even Hillary.

Howlin,

Next time you feel prompted to use the phrase "these people" in a public forum, hold yourself back. It makes you sound like a bigot.

You think conservatives are "demanding that the GOP pander to their every whim"? You think this is a whim, and conservatives just want to be pandered to? If so, it shows you don't have a clue.

Without this intense pressure, Frist and the GOP will never choose to do anything hard. Never. This issue, and Frist's assurances, are a microcosm of how the GOP has been treating conservatives for many election cycles. Kisses and promises till they're re-elected, then, "Thank you for your interest. Please leave a message at the beep."

Enough already. This is the showdown and Frist is showing every sign of being a runaway groom in the making. It's a shotgun wedding or no wedding. (And when I say "shotgun wedding", I'm using it as a euphemism for forcing the man to do "the right thing" by this conservative "bride". An actual shotgun is not involved in any way shape or form.)

They have every right to petition action from their leaders that they helped elect, just as you, I, and any organization does.

Frist has his reasons.

Id like to agree with you Howlin, but I cant, Frist has shown nothing to me in the way of conviction. Couple that with all the RINOs going off of the reservation and not doing anything to rein them in, to me smacks of weakness. Its a weakness the Dems recognize and exploit..
