PETA Gets Nailed

by Chris Field
Posted May 13, 2005

Well, the guys over at the Center for Consumer Freedom have done it again. They are experts at tweaking the noses of those on the Left who believe that you're too stupid to know what foods you should eat and that animals are more important than humans. Their latest stroke of genius is a new website -- http://www.petakillsanimals.com/ -- that tells of the animals that PETA has had killed at its shelter at its Norfolk, Va., headquarters.

Why is PETA doing this? Because it's too expensive for them to keep the animals alive and they have other financial priorities. The website makes the point thusly:

"PETA raked in nearly $29 million last year in income, much of it raised from pet owners who think their donations actually help animals. Instead, the group spends huge sums on programs equating people who eat chicken with Nazis, scaring young children away from drinking milk, recruiting children into the radical animal-rights lifestyle, and intimidating businessmen and their families in their own neighborhoods. PETA has also spent tens of thousands of dollars defending arsonists and other violent extremists.

"PETA claims it engages in outrageous media-seeking stunts "for the animals." But which animals? Carping about the value of future two-piece dinners while administering lethal injections to puppies and kittens isn't ethical. It's hypocritical -- with a death toll that PETA would protest if it weren't their own doing."

Wonderful.

A family friend has placed on his car stickers showing a series of kitties lined up in a row, as you would place flags of the number of enemy planes a pilot shot down. He's received a few drive by obscenities by passing PETA motorists.

From the website ... during 1998 thru 2003 PETA received 13,021 dogs, cats, etc.

They killed 10,195 of them.

This comes out to over $2,800 for each fuzzy little pet which sounds a little high to me. Maybe they hire an attorney for each animal and go through a lengthy appeals process before they 'off' them.

He'd get more than that from me. And I am no anti-meat activist.

Well then I think your neighbor has the right to know the truth.....print her out the facts and mail 'em/give 'em to her

Sadly, tons of well meaning idiots who fall for the idea that they're helping all the cute fluffy kittens and big, weepy-eyed puppies in the world. I knew a million of them when I lived in Boston. Nice folks, but none too astute in certain areas.

Lead by their emotions and feelings than by those pesky old facts.

I just email her the kill rate chart with a link to the site.

This is going to be fun.

I'd be really worried if PETA used some of its income to support eco-terrorist groups like the Earth Liberation Front.
