Why Islam Was Enraged By Newsweek-(are rabble rousers afraid Christianity is superior?)

"Oops, sorry. It looks like we were wrong." Thus Newsweek apologizes for its story in last week's issue that American intelligence interrogators in Guantanamo desecrated the Koran in front of Muslim prisoners and flushed it down the toilet - an error that has to date cost the lives of 16 people killed in the anti-American riots that the story set off in various parts of the Islamic world.

One wonders why a supposedly responsible magazine like Newsweek didn't manifest a tad less credulity toward a report indicating that American intelligence is run not only by anti-Muslim barbarians, but also by total imbeciles. Who else would think that the way to get a terror suspect to be more cooperative is by treating his holy scriptures as excrement? The strong tendency in today's world to believe that America is in the hands of cretins has, apparently, its supporters in the American media, too.

But one also wonders about something else. Suppose for a moment that the shoe had been on the other foot - that is, that Newsweek had run a story about intelligence interrogators in a Muslim country desecrating the New Testament or the Hebrew Bible in a facility holding Christian or Jewish prisoners. What would have been the reaction?

There would have been angry protests, of course. Perhaps even a few noisy rallies at churches or synagogues. But riots? 16 deaths? It's hard to imagine.

Do Muslims really revere the Koran so much more than Christians and Jews do the Bible? They act as if they do. Think of the Salman Rushdie affair. For years this Muslim-born novelist was threatened with death all over the Muslim world for parodying certain episodes in the Koran. A Christian or Jewish novelist who did the same with the Bible would get yawned at.

was. I mean, they see this picture of this white, round, porcelain thing- something they've never seen before in their life, and right away they figure it's gotta be some kind of machine made especially to chew up the Koran.

Such brevity. You're exactly right, and so what is beyond "merely" frustrating is the fact that the pervasive and insidious political correctness has long since infected the chief executive and his administration. All of them are just so SO careful to be "respectful" and even REVERENT with regard to what is - as you correctly describe this monster - an "ignorant and primitive religion!"

How any SANE individual can continue to blather on about how Islam is "a religion of PEACE," and "one of the world's GREAT religions," simply boggles my mind.

The Newsweak fiasco is the perfect example of what we accentuate her on fr constantly. It perfectly illustrates left wing bias,America is always wrong, in the old media and why our new media--the net, talk radio and a few t.v. stations is slowly winning the battle of how the world will one day get it's unbiased news.

We already distrust most of what we read or hear with the old/Msm./rat media. It won't be long before the rest of the country and then the world does the same. The day will come when old media rants and bias's are so obvious that they become a non factor. It's changing every day.

Sorry, probably would not work, as most of these slime balls--AS WELL AS THE MAJORITY OF MUSLIMS--are ILLETERATE!

Why not do just that? Why not translate the Torah, especially, seeing how they hate Jews so much, as well as the Bible into Arabic and put it on tapes and play it TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY?

The ONLY other thing I can think of, which would send them "over the top," would be to play "Sheets" Byrd speeches. LOL

Now, how long do y'all think it would be (oh, about a New York minute!!) before the ACLU, sued, claiming "separation of Church and State"; "Religious persecution"; and of course, "Torture."

If it was up to me, I would fee them nothing but pork, 3 times a day and watch them "squeal." (Pun Intended)

Makes you wonder why the American press(MSM/OLD Media) constantly takes the side of the "peaceful world of the muslim terrorists".
Who the hell's side are they on anyway!!

I don't take them all as being illiterate. Of course, I would not expect them to all know English, so we could offer translated versions.

I would not force any religious texts on them, just let them know that they are not in an Islamic state and have the freedom of religion to accept or reject Islam.

There have been Al-Qaeda training manuals (including "what to do while under interrogation") captured so obviously some of them can read.
