A comparison of chimpanzee genes to human genes shows a concentration of genes
unique to people in areas associated with sperm production and cancer California?

The evolutionary path that separated humans from chimps 5 million years ago may have made human sperm survive better but paradoxically may have made humans prone to cancer. So, creationism isn't an option anymore?

That's what I love about biology: its always got surprises for us.And for biologists. Those people have no idea what they're doing.
I think that there ought to be a study into whether sperm is a cure for breast cancer.

They're right...we are better off being Chimps. My poor spelling has lead me to convince many that they are "Chumps" instead of "Chimps".

Nope - it has been proved totally that we are descended from apes. (sarcasm)

I was just about to ask the question: Assuming for the sake of argument that this is all true, who would want to...err...extract chimp DNA to find a cancer cure? And right on cue...

Those people have no idea what they're doing. Damn, all I have to do is have a stroke, become incapacitated and then I can become a rich person whose only concern is intelligent, self minded people saying that I have no idea?
Perhaps illness is more financially lucrative than an education at a high toting university.

If this hypothesis is true, wouldn't you expect that males would be much more prone to malignancies than females? I checked my old pathology text. Male sex doesn't seem to be a risk factor for cancer.

I was afraid that Chimps were now writing research proposals, setting up laboratories and establishing a lobby effort in Washington.

live long enough and it develops. All in all, for many, cancer can be a good thing.
Living long can't be a bad thing can it?
