Thanks for the PING Tonk.
Memorial Day is always a day of remembrance for me. But, now we remember our Heroes, our Fallen, and our Veterans and their families daily as well. THis Memorial Day we will be spending time visiting our local WWII Memorial and remembering those who have fallen in various conflicts at home and around the world.
Thank you to all of our veterans and our current military members,whether active, reservists, or Guards. I too would stand beside any of you and fight to the death for our freedoms, if called upon to do so.
God Bless each of you, and your families who pray for your safe return. We Pray for you and your families daily. And we thank you for standing in the gap for us here at home.

This was General Order No. 11 establishing "Decoration Day" as it was then known.
Most older residents in this area still call it "Decoration Day".

"Decoration Day".My Grandparents always called it 'Decoration Day'.
I don't think that I knew it as 'Memorial Day'...until Jr. High.
