Will this be another BIG Newsweek blunder? Can we get drudge, rush, etc to run with this?

We need to look inward.

We had the support of the world after 9/11.
We kept that support as we liberated Afghanistan.

Then we lost that support more completely than I would have thought possible... even in allied countries most of the people think we wrong and only 35% of Americans think the Iraq invasion was worthwhile.

It's fine to blame others but we need to look at what we may have done wrong too - we used UN rules as the reason to invade when the UN didn't support that invasion. That was a serious error.

Now Newsweek is exploiting that fact and I'm not defending that exploitation but let's not remember the support we had and how we lost it - because of a serious mistake.

No .. it makes me extremely angry

I just wanted to make sure these are real before I send this out in emails

I knew Newsweek was anti war ...

But I had no idea just how much they hated our country

They print BS like this .. and then have the nerve to ask why the rest of the world hates up??

They did it a different time as well.

American Cover (left), "The Secrets of Spider-man".

International Cover (right), "Moore's War: How He's Waging It and How It's Sweeping The World."

A full court press has begun, from the left wing Media outlets. Newsweek is only one of themany that have begun a concerted effort to damage all George W Bush has tried to
fix.

Warren Beatty is attacking, Faith and Values Media on Hallmark Channel ran a documnetary on comparing George W's, faith based intiative to the Islamic rulers of Iran.

Get ready for the onslaught, we must counter I will be posting a counter overview this week, stay tuned.

Newsweek and the Quran. Both make good toilet paper. That's about all they're good for.

That's your response?

I suggest looking inward and you figure that means I belong at DU and then you resort to name calling. Do you think conservatives can't look inward? I have a higher opinion of the people here than you seem to.

Paul, as I suspected I have looked through your posting history and it is apparent that you've been accused of the same by other posters here. Maybe YOU should look inward....TROLL

How can they do this yet claim to be apologetic for the Koran desecration story?

Lies, lies, lies.

As a Christian and an American, it's part of my job to look inward. I do it imperfectly though.

There is a basic flaw in the logic we used to justify the invasion.. we based it on UN rules and international law when the UN didn;t support the action.... it look really bad to do something in someone else's name while they are in the middle of disavowing your effort.

I believe a way could have been found to remove Saddam without putting us in this wretched situation.

Fortunately, the war was well executed and we are doing well at establishing democracy in Iraq so I am hopeful it will still work out and I absolutely support our troops and want them to win and to be safe.

But I'm not going to pretend that we went to war properly - if we delude ourselves on that point we might do it again.

I hope we will learn a lesson - if we have to fight in North Korea or Iran, I hope we will will either do on our own based on US interests being threatened or not do it at all... this going to the UN, getting turned down and doing it anyway in their name is harmful.
