VALENCIA-- Ten people were arrested -- many of them minors -- after two brawls broke out at Magic Mountain about 8 p.m. Saturday and the park closed early, according to a sheriff's official. A fight among park patrons initially broke out near the Goliath ride, according to Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita sheriff's office.
Park security detained three people identified by witnesses as being involved in that fight, Cambra said. As the rest were allowed to leave, a second fight began near the park's entrance, she said.
Park security and deputies detained 10 people in that fight and requested help from the Santa Clarita station.
Three of the detainees eventually were released, Cambra said.
Ten people -- seven of them minors -- were arrested on various charges including fighting in public, assault on a deputy and resisting arrest, Cambra said.
No weapons were used, and only minor injuries were reported. The cause of the fights was under investigation, said Cambra.
The names of the adults arrested are being withheld for what reason?

I'm sorry, but if they closed the park and I was a paying ticket holder not involved in the altercations, I'd be demanding my money returned, or at least a portion of it. Magic Mountain has been treading a dangerous path for a long time now, their security being less than proactive in preventing these types of incidents.
Not so surprisingly, the other parks are able to keep this type of thing down to a minimum. Someone needs to tack a 'We reserve the right to refuse entry to the park for any reason' and start knocking apart these gangs before they even get inside.

I don't know if you can blame it on diversity. I've seen stupid people, whether they are black, white, chinese, etc...There are too many people now adays that were raised "stupid" and they feel like they can do as they please.
I have met alot of "stupid" people, and i sure as hell try to stay away from them especially in crowds :)

even 10 years ago magic mtn was full of idiot wanna be thugs wearing huge parkas in 90 degree weather. I'm surprised it took this long for some minor mayhem
Have you walked around Magic Mountain lately? Some scary dudes there the last time we went, and that was years ago. I can't imagine it's gotten any better. I'd never consider taking my grandson, who's 7.
Big deal. There was a major gang fight at Six Flags in New Jersey a few years back. The park outlawed gang colors and booted out anyone who stepped out of line. Problem solved.
