VALENCIA-- Ten people were arrested -- many of them minors -- after two brawls broke out at Magic Mountain about 8 p.m. Saturday and the park closed early, according to a sheriff's official. A fight among park patrons initially broke out near the Goliath ride, according to Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita sheriff's office.
Park security detained three people identified by witnesses as being involved in that fight, Cambra said. As the rest were allowed to leave, a second fight began near the park's entrance, she said.
Park security and deputies detained 10 people in that fight and requested help from the Santa Clarita station.
Three of the detainees eventually were released, Cambra said.
Ten people -- seven of them minors -- were arrested on various charges including fighting in public, assault on a deputy and resisting arrest, Cambra said.
No weapons were used, and only minor injuries were reported. The cause of the fights was under investigation, said Cambra.
Laugh if you wish, but their was a big fight among "urban youths" at the Chuck E. Cheese near my aunt's house in NJ. This was about 20 years ago. No surprise she never took my cousin there.
I won't even get started on the body and tongue piercings...
Tattoos are SOOOOO 2003!
There's a better reason not to go to Chuck E. Cheese than gang fights...and that reason is: The pizza is crap.
LOL...SO true!
Same thing has happened in New Jersey, Great Adventure has been taken over by the Latino/Hispanic hourds, they are rude, agressive and obnoxous. They will come up to your wife, girlfriend, daughter, mother whoever and ask them to perform all manner and fashion of perverted acts, hoping to provoke a fight, with 10 to 1 odds in their favor, manly men all of them.
I had this happen two years ago, I met the furry little bastard three days later on the HBLRTS job in Jersey City, his friends wheren't with him this time and he was not a tough one on one.
Great Adventure jumps through hoops to keep the fights out of the papers and off the local TV stations, but the word is out, the Briggens have taken over and they don't spend.
There have been periodic incidents like this for quite some time now... Magic Mtn is not a place you want to take the family.
Magic Mtn certainly has good rides... but Disney's California Adventure does as well - however, Disneyland doesn't put up with gangbanger crap.
I hope he was well-rumpled after you finished :)
A girl in my office PAINTS HER LIPS!!!!
Last time I went to Magic Mountain was years ago, and there were some danged scary looking people there! They were pushing people around, cutting in line, etc. I never went back again.
Shortly after I was there, I heard about a girl who was suing the park because they'd denied her entrance due to her appearance. I thought, "Dang, how could she look even scarier than the people they DID let in when I was there?!"
Recently the radio station I listen to had a promotion, a special night where Magic Mountain would be closed to the public and they would only let in listeners who'd bought tickets in advance. In promoting this event, the radio personalities kept emphasizing how safe it would be because the only people in the park would be the radio listeners. I guess MM must have a bad reputation now, a lot of people scared to go there? What a shame. Why must everything nice be destroyed?
There have been gang fights going on for at least 15 years at Great Adventure. I know that for awhile they were militant about keeping the gangbangers out, but I guess they have returned.
What the hell is a HBLRTS job? Is that some sort of construction thing?
Welcome to Free Republic.
Now go home.
To be honest, i stay away from southern cali. Too close to the border for me. Situation is bad enough in Ncali without having to go down south :)
"Snob zoning" has worked in Northern California. At least if you are lucky enough to afford a house.
Buh bye!
And if you want a really disturbing thought...picture a nursing home in about 30 years with all those wrinkled tatoos on display. Yuck.
Bet she uses evil eye liner, too!
Amazing fact preserved for the ages.
