Fair enough.

Taco Bell Corp. and KFC are both subsidiaries of Yum! Brands, Inc., (NYSE: YUM). They were sold a few years ago.

"Diet Coke alone has a propensity to generate belches that almost wake the dead."

Thank You! Could you please tell my wife that? I have a bunch of elbow dents in my ribs!

I disagree. She said what she meant. In a million years, I would not make the statements she made unless I meant it. And she did. She just got caught saying something stupid, and this is probably going to hurt Pepsi's bottom line.

I've added Pepsi to my official ban list.

It's not long:
Levi Strauss (for their support of PAX)
Proctology & Gamble (gays)
Pepsi

Did you look at the list in post #18?

Your trips to the supermarket will resemble missions through a mine field.

This is no apology at all. SHE is the one who said the USA is the middle finger. There was no "misunderstanding".

By all means, then, boycott away. Be sure to refer to post #18. Good luck.

I don't drink Pepsi, but giving up my "Sunchips" is almost too much to bear. It'd be easier on all concerned if they'd just fire the b*tch.

I'm not fooled for a moment. All of us have said stupid things in the heated spur of the moment that we wish we could take back, but this wasn't just someone shooting from the hip, this was a very carefully crafted and clever speech from someone who clearly put a lot of thought into exactly what she was saying.

I don't doubt for a moment that she's sorry that her speech got a lot more attention than she thought it would, but I don't believe for a second she's truly contrite about what she said, or that she doesn't really feel that way. Sorry, but no dice from me.

"I have come to realize (after a public outrage) that my comments . .may have hurt" (intentional insulting to the country that gave her the freedom to insult every American).

Should read, "Any of you backward a###es feel upset at my telling the truth, Eat S###t!

Yes I read the list,

but currently I'm on Safari in Sweden so most of this stuff isn't here anyway. (Except for Tropicana.)

I had been searching for Pepsi until this twit switched me to Coke. Funny what can change a die-hard Pepsi drinker.

I do not believe that a deeply partriotic American would ever have made such a mistake in a million years.

I can see how it could happen. This woman was born in India and spent her first 23 years there. This story she tells of hands and fingers could be part of Indian lore that we know nothing about. For example, in Hinduism, the middle finger is associated with the planet Saturn. Saturn is the "protector of lifespan." How bad is that?

Having been here the other half of her life, I'm sure she knows what "the finger" is (she alluded to it as a joke) but she might also have this Hindu thing in her head that to her was perfectly acceptable.

Well, there's always boycotting Coca Cola because their CEO is/was a donor to Bubba Clinton and Fat Teddy Kennedy's Campaigns. Then there's the fact that Coca Cola has a bottler in China.

And of course there's a whole list of companies like Progressive Insurance and Gateway Computers whose owners/CEOs are far Left Liberals and donate to all kinds of causes and campaigns most of us would despise. We can go on and on. Oh, and don't forget any company affiliated with George Soros.

Personally, I think boycotts only hurt the employees who do their job and may even disagree with the opinions of management. If sales go down, they're the ones to go first. CEOs always survive to work for someone else.

Hating the United States is the corporate politics of PepsiCo, or it would not have been part of Indra Nooyi speech.

Think about the hatred the folks at PepsiCo feel toward the United States behind close doors that it becomes so easy and natural to express this hatred in a public forum.

Or this:

Dear Mr. Skilnik,

Thank you for contacting us about Indra Nooyi’s recent commencement speech at Columbia University, which has created a difficult situation.

Please know how sorry we are for disappointing you – and how much we appreciate your input. Feedback such as yours has been shared directly with Indra, and she clearly regrets this unfortunate episode. With that in mind, Indra has asked us to share this statement with you:

"Following my remarks to the graduating class of Columbia University's Business School in New York City, I have come to realize that my words and examples about America unintentionally depicted our country negatively and hurt people.

I appreciate the honest comments that have been shared with me since then, and am deeply sorry for offending anyone. I love America unshakably -- without hesitation -- and am extremely grateful for the opportunities and support our great nation has always provided me.

"Over the years I've witnessed and advised others how a thoughtless gesture or comment can hurt good, caring people. Regrettably, I've proven my own point. Please accept my sincere apologies."

-- Indra Nooyi

Thanks once more for taking the time to contact us here at PepsiCo. We truly value your very conscientious point of view, and promise to work just as diligently at regaining your trust and confidence.

Sincerely,

PepsiCo

If your wife is burping that much, maybe you should tell her to switch to something less . . . powerful.

I thought it was malodexrose? that caused that problem, (sugar free candy, cookies, etc.)

I have about a case of diet coke w/ splenda in the kitchen. The only problem I've noticed is feeling like I have hives, but no rash. Switching to water, LOL.
