IL: U.S. migrants ask Mexico to help families

MEXICO CITY (AP) - Mexican migrants from the Chicago area asked the Mexican government Monday to help them reunite families separated by deportations, arguing that new U.S. immigration and terrorism laws are applied unfairly to hardworking people.

The group met with a representative of President Vicente Fox's administration and Mexico City Mayor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and asked both to send President Bush letters requesting pardons for some 60 people who have been deported recently, often separating husbands from wives and children from their parents.

The group said Lopez Obrador told them he would give them a letter. It wasn't immediately clear if the administration would also produce a letter.

The group of about a dozen deported migrants and activists said new U.S. immigration and anti-terrorism policies were being used to deport people seeking citizenship.

Romina Perea described being deported to Mexico more than two months ago - even though her husband and children were all U.S. citizens. She said she was forced to sneak into the United States more than five years ago after the U.S. government denied her a visa to be with her husband.

"They make you go to extremes," she said, accompanied by her two children, who came to live with her in Mexico. "There are thousands, thousands of families affected."

It must really suck when the country of your birth is governed by a bunch of corrupt politicos, narcoterrorists and ne'er do wells, and you're forced to rip your family apart to find gainful employment and some form of economic security, huh?

Who to blame.. hmmm? who to blame, indeed.

"U.S. immigration and terrorism laws are applied unfairly to hardworking people."

Since when did "hard working" become a virtue that cancels out criminality? Hard working pedophiles are ok? Hardworking rapists? Hardworking wife-beaters?

Besides, a disproportionate number of these "hard working" invaders are behind expensive American prison bars (or should be). And the guys who have to guard their sorry @ss#s are DAMN hard working.

It's amazing when people who are breaking the laws of our country think that we owe them something.

What's the Mexican word for hutzpah?

It's not just illegal immigration, it's changing the culture of reality into "multiculturalist" baloney and negating the rule of law into anything goes that we make up on the spot to "feel good" or pacify leftist, anti-American scum.

Here's my post in a previous thread:

Of course its not the criminals fault he broke the law. If the law was changed than his action would be legal and he wouldn't break the law.

Whether you call them illegal entrants or illegal aliens, doesn't matter. The key word is ILLEGAL.

These people are ILLEGAL because we have laws limiting how people can LEGALLY enter our country. Its not that people can't enter our country, or immigrate to our country. Its that we have specific ways for people to do this. Any other way is ILLEGAL. The people who come to this country LEGALLY are welcomed with open arms. Always have, and hopefully always will. The others, whether you like it or not are CRIMINALS.

There is an old saying:"If you can't do the time, don't do the crime". Time for these CRIMINALS to start to accept responsibility for their actions. And its time for the enablers to let the CRIMINALS be responsible for their own crimes. That even includes theirown deaths.

There was a time when CRIMINAL enablers were called aiding and abetting, which itself was at onetime considered CRIMINAL.

There are decent Mexican illegals. But that's it, they are still illegal. And we can't tell the hard working family man from the rapist because neither are on the record. So they both need to go back. And if the decent guy wants to come here for work, he needs to fill out the paperwork.

They should be reunited. Let's pay for a ticket home for them so they can be with their loved ones.

I don't know who is to blame ... if anyone. The majority of people going to the U.S. are out of work, and out of luck thanks to agricultural policies -- ours and theirs -- beyond the migrant's control.

My understanding is that this particular issue involved "family reunification" issues. And, like it or not, children born in the U.S. are U.S. citizens. And, like it or not, a parent's immigration status has nothing to do with whether they love their kids or not.

Do you think that you could get that idea across to your Congressman?

Try driving around as a Gringo in Mexico with no liability insurance.....
and have an accident...

Enter MEXICO illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international
law, or any of that nonsense.

Once there, demand that the local government provide "free" medical care for
you and your entire family.

Demand bilingual nurses, teachers and doctors.

Demand "free" bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.

Enroll your children in the local schools, and insist that their subjects be
taught in English and then demand that their teachers either speak to them
in English, hire an Interpreter, and/or pay for an English Tutor to show
equal consideration is given.

Procreate abundantly. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible
reproductive behavior with, "It is a cultural United States thing. You would
not understand, pal."

Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or
proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.

Speak only English at home and in "public" and insist that your children do
likewise.

Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system. Demand a
local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will
go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.

Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.

Good luck! Because it will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any
other country in the world... except right here in the United States... Land
of the naive!

.......And like it or not, entering our country ILLEGALLY is a crime, irrespective of your motives. Greyhound runs routes from Chicago to the Mexican border. Bye bye.

And, like it or not, children born in the U.S. are U.S. citizens.

Lots of American citizen kids are raised abroad. My daughter went to kindergarten in Australia for a year.

These children maybe citizens but at least one of their parents has no right to be in America. This leaves their parents with the decision to raise their child in the country where they do have a right to be. Or make arrangements for their child to be raised in America by relatives or others who do have a right to be here. In either case, the child will have the right to come and go across our borders as they chose. The parents don't have this right and because they disrespected our laws they should NEVER be given this right. Just because they had a kid on our soil does not make it the rest of our problem.
