When they get serious (fairly soon) the term "sniper rifle" will get redefined as "any rifle with a telescopic sight or capable of accepting a telescopic sight." That would be the perfect mirror image of their tactics WRT so-called "assault weapons".

Bingo! The only difference between my deer rifle and a sniper rifle is between MY ears. If I pot Bambi's mom from a deer stand, it's a deer rifle, if I pot Jennifer's mom from the roof of the 7-11, it's a sniper rifle.

Well...I've got a .50 cal, and I have a scope on it. Should I just find the nearest SS...er, I mean police station...and turn myself in?
Of course it's a "smoke pole"...but what the hay, it's coming...sooner or later.
