New York: In what appears to be a crushing blow, Howard Dean body slammed Rush Limbaugh on Meet The Press, putting Limbaugh in his place and placing the final nail in his coffin. The remarks came Sunday, May 22, 2005, in an hour long interview with Tim Russert. Dean pulled out all the stops, leaving his place in history with such names as Lenin, Marx and Krushchev.
In one of his comments to Russert, Dean said, It is galling to be lectured about moral values by folks who have their own problems. Im giving them a little taste of their own castor oil and they dont like it.
Dean continued to crucify Limbaugh, bringing his brand of justice to an all new level. Hypocrisy is a value that I think has been embraced by the Republican Party. We get lectured by people all day long about moral values by people who have their own moral shortcomings. And now its time for a little payback.
Deans interview wasnt just a slap in the face of conservatives, but it was also a rallying cry for Democrats to gather up their crosses, bibles and rosaries, and get on the morality bandwagon for the 2006 and 2008 elections. With Dean throwing down the gauntlet, its clear that Limbaugh was in his crosshairs.
I will use whatever position I have in order to root out hypocrisy," he noted. Democrats have strong moral values. Frankly, my moral values are offended by some of the things I hear on programs like Rush Limbaugh, and we don't have to put up with that. Limbaugh is no longer allowed to play in the morality sandbox. Im drawing the line in the sand, and quite frankly, Im tired of these reindeer games.
Dean has commented that he hadnt gone to church that much, but that he is more of a Christian than Limbaugh. Tell Limbaugh to bring the heat on. I just went down and purchased my first bible, Dean exclaimed. A King James Version and I can match him passage for passage.
There have been rumors and innuendos that Limbaugh and Dean are to appear in a steel cage-morality match in Madison Square Garden in New York City, declaring the winner as The Heavyweight Champion of Morality, and solidifying once and for all which party owns morality.
I am sick of being told what I [am] and what I'm not by other people. I'm a committed Christian. I worship in my own way?that's my business. That's not the business of the Pharisees who are going to preach to me about what I do and then do something else. Its time we did something about it, and this match is perfect. Dean fired. Are you man enough to step in the ring with me, Limbaugh? Lets get it on!
Limbaugh, in a response on his show today, stated, I welcome it. Its the league that I play in. Besides, I have twenty pounds on Dean. Ill give him a thumping he wont ever forget!
Im voting on Dean, said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC. With Limbaughs history, I just cant afford to be seen this way in Washington.
Im far too spineless to support Limbaugh, whined Sen. Susan Collins, R-ME. Go Dean go. I have to think about reelection in 2008, and this Washington machine turns slowly.
How does it feel to take a walk on the morality wild side Rush, asked Sen. John McCain, R-AZ. No one in Washington knows who Im gonna support. And I like it. I like it a lot! The media loves me. The media loves me not. The media loves me. The media loves me not.
Limbaugh, practically begging for Dean to keep talking about him, hasnt committed to the match. However, Limbaugh thumped Dean in his show today, remarking that he wanted to see Dr. Deans medical records as well, and wondering how may brain cells Dr. Dean has lost.
All I know, Dean said as his face grew redder, is that I want this match to be drug free. Hes not going to be allowed to cheat morality any longer.
With the Democratic Party on life support and the insults that have been bandied back and forth, it was only a matter of time before the war of words came to a head, culminating in a no holds barred steel cage match, and leaving the question: What party owns morality?
Dean made an ars of himself again.
I'm not sure if that counts.
I'd feel better if Dr. Dean and Rush went at it naked, with vegetable oil.
I might pay for that.
troll
< I'm a committed Christian. >
Someone took that line and turned it "he's a Christian that needs to be commited". I would attribute it, but just can't remember where I heard it.

Is this from The Onion?
"a rallying cry for Democrats to gather up their crosses, bibles and rosaries, and get on the morality bandwagon for the 2006 and 2008 elections."
Right.
They will have to wash the blood and body parts of aborted babies from their hands first.
All I see Dean doing is peeing into the wind again.
Ya gotta love Howard Dean. He doesn't just pick a fight with a guy who buys ink by the barrel, he picks a fight with a guy who has 30 million listeners. |
You know, there are people who will take this seriously. ;-)

I'm like Rush...I just hope he keeps talking.

a real knee-slapper he is.
Wonder if Dean knows that King James was horribly anti-semitic? Guess he was not a historian judging by some of his remarks he even proved it. Pappy used to say" Let folks think your and idiot, but keep your mouth shut so you don't prove them right."
Yep - ol' Howard Dean kicked Limbaughs fat butt on Meet the Press...

Yeah, right. Dean is so full of hate for sucsessful conservatives, he will say and do anything in an attempt to malign any of them -- Rush nails the criminal, whacked-out left on a daily basis, and all Dean and his radical ilk can do is name calling and character attacks.
The left has absolutely nothing to offer or say that has ANY INTELLECTUAL CONTENT at all. They are irrelevant -- and Dean just cannot handle it, let alone himself. Keep at it Howard-boy...you are a great poster-child for real American conservatives (notice I did not say Republicans).
sorry, it had to be said
My greatest hope for the future of conservatism is that we have a sense of humor (and perspective) and they are increasingly Stalinist.
From the year 2000 on Dean: the straight-talking, green-leafy-veggies fiscal conservative who favors abortion rights and civil unions for gay couples
Yeah, he's for moral values. NOT!!
