I'll ask the question again and restate it. Which do you think God holds in higher regard, a material poccession that can be replaced with a visit to the book store, or a human life. I don't recall a commandment stating thou shalt not kill unless it's someone who destroyed a bible.
"Still, the Bible is something holy, in the sense that it is something set apart for God, and should be treated accordingly."
Additionally, you are correct, "THE BIBLE" is something holy. It's an institution, but "A BIBLE" is paper, and ink between two pieces of cardboard. Get it?
Or for the Brits, "Piss off, Mohammed."
Oh, we could have some fun with this!
They are not mindless, they are very purposeful. The strategy is to whine while in the minority and kill when in the majority. Been that way for 1300 years.
No. I've never seen any Bibles that weren't printed. You sound like the gnostics who repudiated the material world.
Like the Ark of the Covenant or the Temple, the Bible is an object set apart for God.
"Revere My sanctuary -- I am God" (Leviticus 19:30, 26:2)"Although I have removed them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the peoples, still, I have provided them with a miniature sanctuary in the countries where they have been exiled" (Ezekiel 11:16)
"You must tear down their altars, break their stone pillars, burn their sacred groves, and cut down the statues of their gods... But you must never do anything like this to [the sacred objects of] God your Lord" (Deut. 12:3-4).
so does that make the muslims the 'sons of ishmael'?
