A "hate crimes" bill that specifically covers crimes based on "gender identity" and sexual orientation will be introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, a homosexual advocacy group said.
"Transgender and gay Americans deserve the same clear protections against hate crimes as other Americans," said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese.
"We're proud that for the first time legislation will be introduced that explicitly covers the entire gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and the community will have an unambiguous shot at equal protection under hate crimes law."
The Human Rights Campaign says it has worked "side-by-side" with the bill's lead sponsors, including Reps. Barney Frank(D-Mass.), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), John Conyers Jr.(D-Mich.), Christopher Shays (R-Conn.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) in writing the bill.
Solmonese says "public support is there" for including transgender people in hate crime laws.
The introduction of the bill also heals a rift in the GLBT community.
Last August, transgender advocacy groups were protesting the Human Rights Campaign's "dubious efforts" to include them in federal legislation.
At the time, transgenders accused the homosexual community of throwing them overboard, in an effort to make federal legislation more palatable to lawmakers.
"Some animals are more equal than others"
I trust that provisions for "hate crimes" against whites and Christians were included and will be prosecuted as vigorously a those against transgenders.
The Hate Crimes Laws are nothing more than the implementation of the Values set forth in the European Socialist Manefesto. They undermine our Gurantee of Freedom of Speech by the Constitution. The Hate Crimes were put into law to do just that. We have the right to Hate just as we have the right to Love. The Constitution of the United States is slowly but surely being replaced with the Socialist Version of the European Constitution, read it for yourself:
I don't understand the transgendered thing at all. As a gay friend of mine once told me; "I don't have anything in common with these people....but there's no other place to put them except with us" About 75% of trannies (men to women) still look like guys in a distorted way.
Does this mean we have to hate them all the same amount?
There are no "hate crimes". Either someone has been assaulted and had their civil rights violated or they have not.
Political party is not afforded the same protection. If you are denied a job or room because of you vote Republican, you are out of luck. If someone torches signs on your yard or paints swastikas on your car or sidewalk because you have a Bush Cheney sign, you are out of luck.
If you look for a quota set-aside because you are white and now in the minority in some cities, you are out of luck.
All of this is just cover to designate "politically correct" protected groups and to institutionalize the discrimination against the "politically incorrect".
Let me add too the notion of "rough trade" where transexuals, transvestites, transgenders... will deliberately pull a "bait and switch" on heterosexuals. The risk of assault is a part of the kink for some.
Now it could be claimed that "bait and switch" is in and of itself an attempt at sexual molestation/violation. Can their be "consent" to sex without full disclosure?
Does that mean I'll be protected now?
Yes! You now can wear your dress and High Heels!
Excellent! I'm off shopping. Any recommendations?
How about including hate speech against conservatives?
That is exactly what I've been saying for years. Take the movie "Boys Don't Cry". I have not seen the movie, but from what I've heard, the "victim" was killed after fooling the "perp". A perfectly understandable response in my book. What did he expect? Did I miss something here? Why is it that a "crime of passion" involves more lenient penalties, whereas a "hate crime" involves harsher penalties?
You ever seen them in a store. Your in your sweats and they have some kind of 60's Jackie Kennedy outfit and a wig with a Flip. Yeah, they just blend right in. lol
Well political correctness seeks to make us all take the same positions on every issue.
Who wants to be a sexist-racist-homophobe out to destroy the environment?
If you have ever stumbled in a conversation fishing for the "correct" word to use now ("Mailman, er no...") then you have got their little censor working inside your brain.
They have a lot of nerve, talking about unambiguous.
Absolutely. An unprovoked attack on any human... gay, straight, black, white, polka-dotted... should be abhored by every American.
"Hate crimes" give extra-special status to specific groups. I don't know if a challenge to these laws has ever worked its way through the courts, but Hate Crime legislation would appear to be a violation of the Equal Protection Clause.
I believe this type of legislation isn't about protecting their civil rights. It's about advancing acceptance and approval of nonconventional lifestyles.
Fat people are not protected by these laws. Neither are nerds, geeks, and "brains". If you have a poor fashion sense, the kids are free to beat up and harass you at school. There is no "support group".
This is about shielding some groups, not about protecting human dignity.
Well the constitution says that you cannot discriminate on the basis of race, creed, or color. We are well on our way to ammending that interpretation to at least "suggest" sexual fetish as also being included. Don't know if we will see a constitutional ammendment or just a landmark Supreme Court ruling to "make it so".
A Constitutional ammendment regarding traditional binary male-female marriage would go a long way to stopping this nonsense.
So what is considered a *Hate Word*? in the HATE SPEECH BILL? Pansy? Fruit? Fag? Jerk? All the Traditional Cuss words?
Maybe we can say *Thay your just a bad person!
How in the heck are you going to Monitor a entires nations mouth?
Sorry but when your PO'd to the max the only thinb that brings relief and let's you blow off steam sometimes is cussing like a freaking sailor
Advancing this line of thought: There are a surprising number of sex-changed people who are in the adult entertainment industry. OK, I'll say it. Strippers.
We won't get into the details of how I know this.
I've always wondered if that couldn't be considered false advertising, or unethical, or something like that.
Without due notice, the customer isn't getting what he bargained for.
How about just enforcing the laws we already have against assault, rape, etc. (not to mention illegal immigration)? I hate the idea of a special "hate crime" category for the noisy deviance crusaders. Just another divisive waste of energy.
Is "sodomite" a hateful word? What about "queer" (or is that like the n-word, where the group is free to use it heavily, but no one else)?
Is it prohibited to cite biblical verse against it? Canada thinks so.
The only instance I am aware of where someone "crossed the line" and tried to become a sex symbol was one of the Bond girls (not a speaking part, just some of the background "eye candy").
Well today with the amount of implants both sexes opt to have as well as all the other FAKE BODY PARTS, WHO GETS THE REAL DEAL ANYMORE?
Ask the legislators when they will consider including the word "breeder" among hatespeech.
You should read the actual story about the "Boys Don't Cry" person. Check kiter, car thief, liar, etc. She wasn't killed by men because she was impersonating a man. It was a young girl and her mother she was getting over on. She was killed because of the constant turmoil she brought to the town in which she was killed.
Like Matthew Sheppard, her story was cleaned up/distorted to make a fiction about widespread violence against gays.
Most are people who have some serious mental issues although a few suffer from known genetic defects that cause them to appear male while genetically being female or vice versa.
Some customers don't care.
Others do. There is now a niche among porn sites and magazines to brag about having "natural" women (some of whom may have smaller cup sizes).
Why don't we just include every single group on earth, so this bill amounts to nothing more than harsher penalties for crimes?
You are showing your age! Nowadays, most women, and thus those who imitate/copy them, dont wear dresses or skirts any more.
For the record, I'm a "real deal" kind of guy in all respects... my body and my preferences.
I don't know?
I would like to know what words are considered Hate?
The only people who you can call names, and discriminate agaisnt are White Conservatives who believe in 1 GOD who created the world and Jesus Christ, Guess you can call them anything that tickles your fancy...
Hey we wear skirts! if we don't I sure have plenty to throw away :)
What they really need, is a CCW and for everyone of them to carry if they are old enough.
I am so sick of this creep emabling the enemies of our families, again and again. Can't we just get him out in the next primary? I would rather have a RAT.
Frankly, there isn't even a lot of common ground between homosexual men and homosexual women.
This is about image more than it is about being repulsed by another sexual fetish group's turn on.
Almost all of those going under the knife for "sex change" operations are doing so for cosmetic reasons. Is it really a "sex change" if your chromosomes remain the same?
A male or female born with ambiguous or even duplicate/complimentary genitalia still has a single chromosonal identity.
Those who change their sex don't suddenly menstruate (although the hormones could cause them to lactate, I suppose). Neither change suddenly produces a seed or egg where there was none before.
It is as possible to change one's sex as it is to change one's race. IMpossible.
I hear ya!
And what about SHORT PEOPLE? are they protected? I would like to know the words that are considered Hate Speech?
Since I say many of them..LOL...
I'd like to know the story of the death of the third member of that gay Texas trio that raised the Sodomy lawsuit in the first place.
The caller was an ex-lover of one of the men. He had a pending assault charge against the man and was murdered in an unsolved assault before the case could go to trial.
Homosexual on homosexual assault occurs too.
Gary Neuman said it in the 1970s, "Short people got, no reason..."
"We won't get into the details of how I know this."
I'm guessing it involves a very bad experience?
HAHA..They got little hands and little feet...I think Short people complained about that song....
What about that Old SOng Lola?
met her in a club down in old soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes
just like cherry-cola C-o-l-a cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said lola
L-o-l-a lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well Im not the worlds most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well Im not dumb but I cant understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well we drank champagne and danced all night
Under electric candlelight
She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said dear boy wont you come home with me
Well Im not the worlds most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes well I almost fell for my lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
Then I looked at her and she at me
Well thats the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my lola
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
Its a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for lola
Well I left home just a week before
And Id never ever kissed a woman before
But lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said dear boy Im gonna make you a man
Well Im not the worlds most masculine man
But I know what I am and Im glad Im a man
And so is lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Never tried to imply it was. Like I said, the vast majority of people who do it suffer from some kind of mental issue.
But it does NOT!!! say we cant discriminate on the basis of sex. The ERA was defeated.
Prior to the Supreme Court decision, I thought the court would decline to hear the case since the arrest was based on a bogus report of crime.
