Transgenders Included in New Hate Crimes Bill
Crosswalk ^ | May 24, 2005 | Susan Jones

A "hate crimes" bill that specifically covers crimes based on "gender identity" and sexual orientation will be introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, a homosexual advocacy group said.

"Transgender and gay Americans deserve the same clear protections against hate crimes as other Americans," said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese.

"We're proud that for the first time legislation will be introduced that explicitly covers the entire gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and the community will have an unambiguous shot at equal protection under hate crimes law."

The Human Rights Campaign says it has worked "side-by-side" with the bill's lead sponsors, including Reps. Barney Frank(D-Mass.), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), John Conyers Jr.(D-Mich.), Christopher Shays (R-Conn.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) in writing the bill.

Solmonese says "public support is there" for including transgender people in hate crime laws.

The introduction of the bill also heals a rift in the GLBT community.

Last August, transgender advocacy groups were protesting the Human Rights Campaign's "dubious efforts" to include them in federal legislation.

At the time, transgenders accused the homosexual community of throwing them overboard, in an effort to make federal legislation more palatable to lawmakers.

Christopher Shays (R-Conn.)

I am so sick of this creep emabling the enemies of our families, again and again. Can't we just get him out in the next primary? I would rather have a RAT.

Frankly, there isn't even a lot of common ground between homosexual men and homosexual women.

This is about image more than it is about being repulsed by another sexual fetish group's turn on.

Almost all of those going under the knife for "sex change" operations are doing so for cosmetic reasons. Is it really a "sex change" if your chromosomes remain the same?

A male or female born with ambiguous or even duplicate/complimentary genitalia still has a single chromosonal identity.

Those who change their sex don't suddenly menstruate (although the hormones could cause them to lactate, I suppose). Neither change suddenly produces a seed or egg where there was none before.

It is as possible to change one's sex as it is to change one's race. IMpossible.

I'd like to know the story of the death of the third member of that gay Texas trio that raised the Sodomy lawsuit in the first place.

The caller was an ex-lover of one of the men. He had a pending assault charge against the man and was murdered in an unsolved assault before the case could go to trial.

Homosexual on homosexual assault occurs too.

Gary Neuman said it in the 1970s, "Short people got, no reason..."

"We won't get into the details of how I know this."

I'm guessing it involves a very bad experience?

HAHA..They got little hands and little feet...I think Short people complained about that song....

What about that Old SOng Lola?
met her in a club down in old soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes
just like cherry-cola C-o-l-a cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said lola
L-o-l-a lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well I’m not the world’s most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well I’m not dumb but I can’t understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola

Well we drank champagne and danced all night
Under electric candlelight
She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said dear boy won’t you come home with me
Well I’m not the world’s most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes well I almost fell for my lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola

I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
Then I looked at her and she at me

Well that’s the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It’s a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola

Well I left home just a week before
And I’d never ever kissed a woman before
But lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said dear boy I’m gonna make you a man

Well I’m not the world’s most masculine man
But I know what I am and I’m glad I’m a man
And so is lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola

It is as possible to change one's sex as it is to change one's race.

Never tried to imply it was. Like I said, the vast majority of people who do it suffer from some kind of mental issue.

Well the constitution says that you cannot discriminate on the basis of race, creed, or color.

But it does NOT!!! say we cant discriminate on the basis of sex. The ERA was defeated.

Prior to the Supreme Court decision, I thought the court would decline to hear the case since the arrest was based on a bogus report of crime.

Watch it, guys, this bill might have majority support in both houses of Congress and GWB will have to consider a veto, though Tom DeLay might kill it somehow.

I keep reminding myself to call the BSA and tell them they need to sue the HRC for appropriating one of their trademarks.

In case you haven't noticed, the HRC uses as it's main symbol an exact duplicate of the BSA's "Denner" badge; a royal blue square with two horizontal yellow stripes on it.

Murder is not perfectly understandable, regardless of the emotions involved. If there was no threat to the perpetrator's life, there's no justification for killing.

If there is still any of you out there who don't think the Republic is over, seek counseling immediately.

The Republic is dead, whether this passes or not.(this time)

Instead of adding all kinds of people one at a time . . .

Why don't they just make it against the law to hurt anyone because you hate them?

I guess that would be too simple, and lawyers need the work.

After decades of these freaks ramming their agenda down America's throat how could any attack on them be "unprovoked?"

Actually, discrimination and violence against people on the basis of race or religion IS covered by hate crime laws, even if they're the majority race/religion. Beating up a white person because of his race can be prosecuted as a hate crime.
