We have seen many "parents" of heroes poisonously attack the military and the Republic for which it stands, and the country which shelters them.

And most of those parents are U.S. citizens; that is where your argument fails. You are punishing a "patriotic" LPR for the "unpatriotic" act of a true citizen.

Only if you are allowed to go into the weeds with a faulty premise.

I have an opinion about citizens who behave likewise, but is irrelevant and I won't allow you to change the subject.

You may assume anything you wish. Stupidity is not a crime. I just question your assumption of "..a "patriotic" LPR", as opposed to one who is an opportunist and an enemy within, even though a child is a hero. The point being that the two are not mutually exclusive..
