Russian Boxer Valuev Number One WBA Heavyweight
Russian boxer Nikolai Valuev has reached the top of the WBA heavyweight rating.
Earlier, Valuev, Russia’s largest boxer at 151 kilograms and a height of 215 centimeters, occupied the third place in the list.
Valuev will thus fight the current WBA heavyweight champion John Ruiz as the latter he defends his title.
The Russian’s manager, Wilfried Sauerland, was quoted by RTR-Sport television channel as saying he will take all measures to make the match between Valuev and Ruiz take place this year.
Valuev has so far won 43 matches and lost none. In 32 of the matches, he won with a knockout. He has reached the ninth place in the WBC rating list.
That's about 333 lbs., and a little over 7 ft. tall?! Yikes!
Muhammed Ali... desposed soundly Ernie Terrell who was 6' 8" or more I believe. I don't know if there is anyone even close to the ability of Ali fighting today, so therefore a plug like this might make it to the title.

Terrell was 6-6 if memory serves.
A lot of times power carries a boxer pretty far. When the power goes, there was not so much skill behind it.
I met him, he seems taller. But it can easily be looked up. Do you want to fight about it? :-)

I watched a couple of Clay/Ali fights on ESPNCL with my son the other day. He was amazed to find that names like Frazier, Foreman and Ali were all fighting in the same time period.
I can't even name a heavyweight today. I hated Ali when I was a kid, because he was such a blowhard. Looking back, though, he was really a great athlete.

Etienne, the Black Rhino, has a fairly impressive record against top competition. He has beaten Lamon Brewster and Lawrence Clay-Bey. Tyson knocked him out in the 1st round.
LOL. Where did you come up with that one? Punching power is more than weight, but size does matter. Why? It is called physics: Force=Mass x Acceleration.
It goes back to Newton's second law of motion. The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.
All things considered equal a 330 lb guy can hit harder than a 225 pound guy. Put another way, the 225 lb heavyweight can outpunch the 125 lb Featherweight or 120 lb Super Bantamweight.
Louis was 6'2" and 207 in his prime. His superior boxing skills would have probably carried him to victory. Although Louis is rated as the greatest puncher of all time by Ring nmagazine, I don't know if he would have knocked this guy out. He would be giving away 125 pounds. Louis was 69-3 with 55 KOs.
Primo Carnera only weighed 260 when Louis KO's him in 6. Billy Conn, a lightheavy, shook Louis up several times in their first fight and would have beat him by decision if the hard headed Irishman hadn't decided to try to take Louis out by KO. Instead Conn got KO'd in the 13th round.

My pappy used to say - "Never pick a fight a man uglier than yourself - he has nothing to lose." By that standard, I'm not sure there is anyone on earth who should fight this guy.
This Dude is definitely carrying some "throwback genes" and they're probably the ones used to slay Wooly Mammoths or such.
