Clinton to be Sued for Missed Restaurant Reservation?
May 25, 2005
Bill Clintons legendary eating habits have long been the butt of jokes, but it was an allegedly skipped dinner at one of Romes most fashionable restaurants that now seems to be needling the ex-chief of state.
Whatever the reason for Clintons no-show, the restaurant owner is apparently none too pleased. According to reports, the owner may sue the former president who, the owner claims, didn't bother to cancel his reservation.
Just weeks after his surgery, the president said while hitting the campaign trail for John Kerry, "If this isnt good for my heart, I dont know what is."
And while he took it easy for a while, the former president has definitely resumed his frenetic pace, last week traveling to Rome to promote links between Africa and Europe. But when he's not pressing the flesh, hes got to eat. And one afternoon Clinton's people reportedly booked a reservation at one of Rome's trendiest restaurants.
Having a president as your customer is obviously a big deal. And the restaurants owner reportedly went to town, spending nearly $2,000 on extra food and wine. He even closed off a section of the restaurant to accommodate Clinton and his secret service.
But the president never made it in, and the restaurant is reportedly considering its options, which might include a lawsuit.
The president, who could soon be hitting the book circuit again for the paperback edition of his biography, is getting hammered on the web for this alleged breach of protocol. One Internet blogger chimed in with, "Hail to the tacky jerk."
The restauranteur is too big for his britches. He's acting like he's a doctor or lawyer. It's a freakin' eatery!
No, they didn't have an intern to spare, for under the table!
Am I to suppose bubbas flirtation with Harlem is a thing of the past, or is he just temproarily tired of soul food?
Sounds like the guy did all these things on his own to impress Clinton.
Could've told him this was a mistake, but it doesn't sound like he deserves a dime.
The impeached *Iceman pictured recruiting...
The waiters at the restaurant werent dissappointed, The Clintons dont tip anyway.
Interesting choice of words.
Hard to say--Probably not the local McDonalds. When they indicate Clinton and his people--who knows how many tables the ex-pres and his entourage had locked up.
If it were an "exclusive rest." with a waiting list, the owner lost lots of money. The Clintons are notorious for stiffing restauraunts and servers as well (no tipping please when its the Clinton).
Howerver, there is a lesson here. Either don't serve the Clinton Make them follow the same rules as everyone else.
Hey Bubba--the waiting time will be---oh 9.5 weeks or so if you really want to eat there.
Send Billy boy the check.
Once a pig always a pig. You can take the pig out of arkansas and put him in the whitehouse, but you can't take the pig out of the perverted, disgraced, impeached, ex-president!
He help an intern practice for a talent show. Sword swallowing.
We may now have him on the ropes a restauranteur may bring him down.
Yeah, and I have a choice piece of swampland in Florida to sell you!
Clinton's getting sued??...for anything????
Yeah......right.
From his attire one would have to assume klintoon is gay. The former coward in chief did not can his reservations because (he could).
...Britt Hume last week had reported that when the restaurant owner had called Clinton's people to inquire as to why Clinton and his band of merry men hadn't shown up, he was told..."Sorry, change of plans"...and Clinton's aide hung up on the owner. Just yet another demonstration of Clinton's "it's all about me" white trash mentality.
Third world admirers(fools)this is the only crowd klintoon can attract these days. NSNR
The x42 psychopath, elected(vote fraud) by some brain dead zombies.NSNR

I have a feeling ex presidents and many such public figures make fake reservations for security reasons.
OK. There's been speculation about this. But from his attire? Please explain.
