Gordon Liddy
All Times
Mr. Liddy was General Counsel of the 1972 Republican presidential campaign and the campaign finance committee, with additional duties as Campaign political intelligence director.

For his role in the Watergate scandal, and for refusing steadfastly to implicate others, Mr. Liddy was sentenced to over twenty years in prison. He served nearly five years, many in maximum security, including 106 days of solitary confinement.

Liddy always felt deepthroat was two people.

Alexander Haig was the other.

Apparently W&B said there was more than one Deep Throat. There were plenty of Danial Ellsbergs running around at that time.

I'm listening. G. Gordon says that Felt did not want to come forward -- still doesn't, calls what he did "dishonorable" -- but the family wanted him to. They want him to show them the money.

Certainly seems like they want to "cash in".

A photo spread in Vanity Fair, my my.

Just like the undercover agent who didn't want publicity.

Right. Wonder what VF paid?

If Felt was smart he'd have been writing his book all this time.

Liddy was on Fox and Friends this morning. He was asked whether Woodward and Bernstein's lives were ever really in danger (as they claimed). Liddy said "No". When asked how he knew that, he essentially said, "Because I would have been in charge of that."

LOL.

CNBC has some literary agent types quoted as saying minimum 7 figure advance for a book.

Liddy says if he had been caught doing the leaking, he'd have been fired. This caller has the same question I did -- why didn't Felt go through channels? Why go to the media? The FBI investigations are supposed to be The People's business. Or did he feel that was the way people get waxed? Mafioso talk.

I want to know more about way things were. My first thought was that Felt was acting petulantly after not getting the FBI top spot.

Is the show repeated elsewhere? I'm only going to be able to listen for the next fifteen minutes this morning, but I want to try and catch the whole thing later.

Liddy also stated that the "legal" thing for Feldt to do was to take this information before a secret Grand Jury and present the evidence of a crime being committed - not going to a single newspaper source and giving them your "evidence", which is a violation of law - Secret Grand Jury testimony is not.

If he takes a nickel tomorrow it's a new statute of limitations period on the crimes he committed. LOL! Love it. Sing, judge.

The family sounds like real winners.
