What the heck are they guilty of?
What's a "hazardous situation" and how can you be charged?
So far, they're guilty of nothing.
Notice it does not say "convicted". If he had been, then imho, they would have said so. At that point, absent any felony convictions or misdemeanor acts of domestic violence, I can't think of a Federal crime here. Unless the Class 3 stuff does not have the paperwork.
It sounds to me as if someone is looting the gentle folks' gun collection.
Being targeted & set up by JBT's. I am very surprised the feds ddin't track down their kids & shoot them ala Randy Weaver's wife.
Hey! I grew up in this town. Don't remember them, though. I guess I never egged their house on Halloween.
Since government has assumed the authority to define *crime*...
they're guilty of what ever government says they are. :(
100 cases of ammo in NJ? 500 guns in NJ? That's gotta be a capital crime in itself.
Living in New Jersey.
"What the heck are they guilty of?"
Owning firearms in a police state?
Charged with "creating a hazardous situation"? What the *$^#???
Semper Fi
In my mind, they are guilty of nothing except being old. More guns, more guns.
It's like the 1st amendment which limits you to a certain number of words that are considered free speech (unless it's political and 100 days before an election in which case you don't get any) but if you exceed that number of words you're a felon.
Same with guns, you just can't go over that certain number because everyone knows that, like the 1st amendment, the 2nd carries a limit on the number of guns you own.
I'm surprised that the article didn't claim they lived in a compound.
There was a thread here a week or so back about one of those northern states planning to confiscate one's home if an unregistered gun was found on the premesis. This article claims the two are charged with 'creating a hazardous situation'. I guess they can make that up as they go along.
Not sharing...
Guess you haven't read that part of the 2d Amendment, you know the one about the right to keep and bear arms unless you have Alzheimers or some other ailment so deemed by the libs to make you ineligible to own a weapon. You kinda gotta squint to see it, but it's there.
Nearly 500 guns, including AK-47s and high-powered rifles, 500 pounds of gunpowder and 100,000 rounds of ammunition were taken Wednesday from the home of Elizabeth and Sherwin Raymond, both 82.
Sherwin Raymond, a former physician and known gun enthusiast, has twice spent time in prison: in the early 1970s for performing illegal abortions and later that decade for selling silencer-equipped submachine guns. Convicted felons are not permitted to own guns.
Deluding themselves that they were free in the Peoples' Democracy of NJ in the United States of Amerika.
