The Religious Left's Lies
Washington Post (where the news goes postal) ^ | 5/21/2005 | James Watt

Posted on 06/02/2005 9:02:09 AM PDT by worldclass

Political opportunists in its ranks sought a wedge issue to weaken the GOP's coalition of Jews, Catholics and evangelicals and shatter its electoral majority. They passed over obvious headliners and landed on a curious but cunning choice: the environment. Those leading the charge are effective advocates: LBJ alumnus Bill Moyers of PBS fame, members of the National Council of Churches USA and liberal theologians who claim a moral superiority to other people of faith.

To quote Ann Coulter: You can always tell when they're lying 'cause their lips are moving.

How much energy does it take to expose the pathetic lies of the twisted left?

One Watt.

Those leading the charge are effective advocates:
LBJ alumnus Bill Moyers...

Enough said.

Off the meds and on the loose again, apparently.
You begin to wonder if Moyers is a hypno-programmed Manchurian Candidate
clown designed specifically to discredit liberalism and turn people off.
Someone pushes a button and he goes into his dance.

FACT: I suspect that those of us who don't worship the earth goddess and who have been po'ed by bad decisions the environmental wackos got friendly courts to force upon people are going to believe them even less.

They spend a lot of time preaching to their own choir.

The left are very clever. They can't tell the truth, but they can think up some pretty effective lies.

Most of their lies have worn thin over the years, but the environment remains a positive issue for them. It's important for conservatives to take the environment back from the whackos and the leftist spinmeisters who use it for their advantage.

Environmentalism used to be a conservative cause. It's suggested by the similarity of words: conservative, conservation. We need to educate the public into seeing through the empty lies of the left masquerading as environmentalism.

Above all, we need to avoid falling into the leftist trap of identifying conservatism with disdain for nature and the environment.

Oh c'mon Chef, you know what they mean by religious left. That Jesus was really a socialist and the first Christians were communists. Jsus would really bless Marx if he'd just knock off the atheist thing and give the "church" their place in the scheme of things.

Back when Mr. Watt was Sec. of the Interior, the looney left would say, "How much energy does it take to destroy the environment? One Watt."

Absoluters. Plus, when lefties refer to "religion", they do indeed say it with quotation marks.
