GRAND CHUTE, Wis. -- This is my AFC prediction column, and you're probably wondering: What is that weird dateline doing on the AFC prediction column? Well, I came to Wisconsin over the weekend to take the temperature of Brett Favre and gauge his readiness for a 14th season in Green Bay, so it just happens to be where I am right now.
Favre interlude: The Packers QB holds an annual benefit softball game in this little suburb of Appleton, Wis., a 30-minute drive from Lambeau Field. He does it here because this is where the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League Class A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, play in a nice little venue called Fox Cities Stadium.
Favre looked good. Said he weighs 224 pounds and just finished a five-week, five-day-a-week workout regimen with former Notre Dame strength and conditioning man Ken Kroener down in Mississippi. The Packers paid for the training because they think Favre needs to be in better condition to withstand the rigors of an NFL season than he was last year. Which Favre, basically, confirmed. "People made a big deal of this," he told me, sitting at a locker in the Timber Rattlers' spartan clubhouse, "but I do feel better. This time last year, I hadn't really done anything."
Favre's conditioning program included stretching, body-weight lunges. . .

And the area is more into baseball and hockey, so football might flag a little if the team reverts, but I think they're starting to really establish themselves in the hearts and minds. They'll be alright.
Look at how poor the Cleveland Indians attendance was for so many years. Then they built Jacob's Field, put a very good team together, and they sold out every game for a few years.
They didn't come along until 1960 and they had a heck of a time just getting a place to call home. Now that a couple of generations have grown up watching them they've become established.
Tedy will be back before the end of the season, IMO.
That'd be great.
He was waived by the Raiders last August and is now with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL... ready? ... here it comes... as a back-up. Tee Martin, national champion QB for UT and drafted in the 5th by the Steelers instead of Tom Brady is now not good enough to even start in the CFL. Wow.
yep. He went on a simliar one when Ohio State beat Miami in the Fiesta Bowl.
He is rapidly becoming nothing more than a shill....
I had a feeling that would happen. When Lawyer was traded it caused alot of animosity. To see Brown in another uniform would have been criminal. He's become the spiritual backbone of the team. The veteran who's seen it all from '93 to now, the worst and the best.
So we have the three B's - Belichick, Brady, and Brown. But Bruschi? I almost don't want him to come back for his family's sake! A stroke at 32? Yikes!
